Built with the photo enthusiast in mind, the ABLE 300 DX uses many recent design advances together in this utility tripod.The legs of the ABLE 300 DX set up and fold down securely, just loosen and tighten leg lock knob to extend or shorten them. 3 position adjustable angle leg locks make for easy set up on uneven ground or steps. These leg locks also allow the height of the tripod to lowered. Combine this feature with the ABLE 300 DX Short Column (optional accessory) and the tripod can be lowered to just 14 inches (350 mm) the for very low angle or macro photography in the field.For even lower angle photography or copy work the standard gearless center column can be reversed (turn upside down) so that the head is at the bottom of the center column, give you the ability to photograph with the camera just a few inches off the ground.

Slow leg unlocking system. Cumbersome and heavy. Like the other reviewer, I'm looking for another tripod to replace this one.

I've used this tripod for about 3mos now and this is my experience with it.
PROS:
-strong
-tall
-quick angle adjustments
-rubber feet
-pan/tilt motion is good
CONS:
-not a quick-release system, turning the knobs to adjust the legs is a SLOW task and quickly becomes annoying
-the shoe lock/release mechanism uses so much pressure when locked, you have to use a gross amount of force to unlock it and have to be careful not to knock your camera out if you accidently slip in the process
-no geared center column
-no bubble
-heavy
Suffice to say, I'm looking for a new tripod to replace this one.

The description is incorrect. This is laptop memory for a Gateway laptop. This is a 256MB DDR333/PC2700 SO DIMM.

I also ordered this memory thinking that it was desktop memory but it is laptop memory. I waited 3 weeks for it to arrive before finding that Amazon had either sent the wrong memory or listed it incorrectly
Follow-up:
Amazon attempted to correct the error of sending me laptop instead of desktop memory (which this should be), but I received as a replacement another set of laptop memory. Shipped quickly, but very frustrating

This is not DIMM memory; it is listed incorrectly. It is SODIMM memory, for a laptop. Save yourself the hassle of the return, not to mention the three week wait to ship.
This is mis-labeled.......2004-07-15
This is actually SO DIMM and not DIMM memory and is intended for some Gateway Laptops, per Vikings web site. Even dealnews has this misclassified in their dealram site because of Amazon's mis-labeling. Amazon's RMA process, though, is quite good.
