Malfunction.......2007-12-24
I bought two frames for Christmas. The reason I chose them, where because of the USB connection and the possibilities to perform "slow slide shows".
The first one didn't worked at the beginning, but began to work afterwards. I hope I don't have any trouble with that one.
The other one never worked. The led's indicated that it was on, but the screen just showed a welcome message and than turned off. It seamed like a software problem, but there is no help with troubleshooting in "Genius" site.
A frame is relatively simple but expensive electronic product. I just can't justify that it didn't work.

I bought this frame as a Christmas present for my parents. When I tried to load pictures prior to wrapping it, I discovered that the screen was dead. The LED power lights, but nothing else works. Don't waste your money on this product, made in Taiwan.

Terrible, terrible product, with absolutely no support. It doesn't work properly, and there is no trouble-shooting in the 3-pages of instructions.

I sent the Kodak 7" display back because it had a widescreen display that didn't fit most of my photo's and made the display seem even smaller. After seeing the difference in this display and the other, I would say don't even mess with a screen smaller than 10". Once you get the pictures on this it is awesome. I knocked the product because of poor documentation. I never did get the thing to read a memory stick from my sony camera. It was a snap to use my Mac to load everything from the USB connector supplied. The 128 MB is fine for my needs. Unit seems well built and is attractive.

It is very easy to upload jpeg's to the frames internal memory. Just plug it into a USB port and it's recognized as a drive. Then you can just drag & drop your images from your hard drive or cd/dvd. The frame automatically sizes the images properly. The image quality is very good for a 640X480 frame. One benefit the frame has that many others don't is to set the the slide show duration from 5 sec up to 4 hours. Another feature is the sleep function which can be set up to 8 hours. The only 2 notable cons to this frame are that you can't turn it on/off with the remote, you have to reach behind the frame to a slide switch and the remote is the type with the bubble buttons rather than the push type buttons which I prefer.
