Included Voice Album software lets you display pictures on a PC monitor in slide show fashion and add descriptions and narration to recorded images.
An LCD panel shows recording time remaining, sound quality, folder name, and other non-image-related information (though the LCD cannot be used to review pictures). When the recorder is hooked up to an external monitor, however, visual indexing lets you display an image while playing related audio. The W-10 uses a 0.3 Megapixel CMOS chip for visual indexing (640 x 480 resolution). The W-10 runs on two AAA batteries (not supplied) and cannot run from an AC adapter. Two batteries run about 24 hours. Supported operating systems include Microsoft Windows 98, 98SE, Me, 2000 Professional, and XP Professional and Home editions. Your computer must be running an Intel Pentium II class 233 MHz or faster with 64 MB RAM minimum and a Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 sound board (or 100 percent compatible). Your video card and display must be 800 x 600 pixels minimum with 256 colors minimum. One available USB port is required.

Almost perfect.......2007-12-28
I'm a remodeling contractor and use it to record conversations with customers (assuming they approve) and pictures of the potential job site. It's memory is much better then mine! The one complaint is that the software is NOT compatible with the Vista on my laptop. I asked Olympus support if they had updated drivers and the response was "The W-10 is not compatible with Vista." Luckily I have an older desktop running 2000 where I can download the data, then email it to my laptop.
Better than expected.......2007-11-25
Although this device would not work on my Mac, I decided to keep it and give it as a gift to a friend that works on a PC. Worked great and the camera is an pleasant perk in a handy small size.

I didn't really had this Recorder, but my sister did and i borrowed it many times.
It's really amazing Recorder. Sound is very clear and understandable, it's small, easy to use for everybody. You can connect it to comp without problems and transferring of data's is a matter of seconds.
It also have a very nice 0.3mpxl camera. I thought that images will be bad, but for 0.3 camera it's just amazing.
We had really much fun with this recorder and also used it for studying in university. Highly recommended!!!

I use the recorder for gathering field data for electrical primary distribution system mapping & planning. The recorder and software provided for organizing and correlating field dictation with photos is perfect for this application, especially considering the incredibly low price.

Takes web-quality photos and records messages quite well. Would have given it 5 stars if the colors were more accuarate in the pix, but at this price point it is still a great deal. Would be great to have one in every car to record and take photos of any car accident, etc. Much easier interface then some of the same function I have seen attempted on feature-laden cell phones. Software works very well, via USB port.
