LENMAR AI-MODAM

Not a modulator.......2006-04-04
I bought this because it says modulator and that is what I expected and needed. It is a transmitter NOT a modulator. If you are looking for a modulator do not buy this, it is mislabeled/misadvertised.
This thing is great!.......2006-01-24
First of all, I got this thing amazingly fast. Ordered Thursday night and got it Monday morning. Tried it out and it works great! If you live in a big city with lots of radio stations it's even better because you have lots of diffrent frequencies to choose from. I use this in conjunction with my Philips GoGear HDD1630 jukebox and it sounds just as great as my regular CD's or FM stations do through my in-dash reciever. I'm very pleased with this and would recommend it!

HD Radio: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.......2007-07-23
My title says it all: my Directed Electronics Car Add-On HD radio is a mixed bag - here's several examples:
THE GOOD: IF you are in a local, strong FM-HD signal area, then HD radio audio is decent, and you can receive an additional HD2 channel too! It seems like it is trying to decode analog AM stereo too - which would be a great feature, but it's not listed.
THE BAD: To receive AM-HD, you need a VERY strong signal. You have to be in the city where the AM transmitter is, or have a non-directional 50KW AM station to receive HD-AM; even at that, the HD-AM audio is a little raspy, and 'esssy' with voice-only stations.
THE UGLY: No way to switch to only analog AM or analog FM; if a station has their analog delay off, and your signal goes back and forth from analog to digital, it will drive you nuts hearing the same thing 5 seconds later, or before (it did me, for a fireworks music show).
THE GOOD: Nice display unit, and it shows FM analog stations' RDS information in the display that have RDS. Also, you CAN receive analog AM stations okay that were wiped-out by digital buzzing (20KHz off-frequency) from an HD-AM station on your regular radio. Excellent FM SELECTIVITY (meaning you CAN pickup an FM station just one channel away that you can't hear very well on your other regular FM radio.
THE BAD: Digital AM audio not as good as I expected, and only 1 station of 6 AM-HD stations here has stereo audio. No analog stereo indication for AM or FM. No stereo/mono switch. Poor AM sensistivity.
THE UGLY: You can almost fry eggs on the hot metal tuner module.
Anyhow, that's my opinion - it's close, but not quite yet; maybe they'll nail-it on an updated model. My guess is that an updated model WILL be worth the money, so ask them to make it for you!
works great! but takes some skill to use..........2007-03-18
The sound from this item is very close to CD quality provided you do not get out of signal range. Its usefullness is made even more beneficial since once you find an HD radio station and signal is aquired, you will notice some radio stations have more than one station on the frequency you are on. Setting the stations up should be done from a parked position. You will not be able to just surf easily through stations since there are 3 different ways to search. Read the user manual and you will get the best use out of this device. If you travel a bunch this item will require more time to station surf. And if signal is weak you will still here some static. The sound on a strong signal has much more depth than any conventional radio station. Its still worth the buy!

A thoroughly modern design that's optimized for select Canon EOS digital SLRs. Its angle of view is equivalent to a 96mm lens on a 35mm camera, with a floating optical system that can focus down to full life-size (1:1) magnification. Inner focusing, driven by a silent and powerful ring-type USM, means the lens' overall length never changes during focus. This lens is a wonderful multi-purpose lens that's equally at home shooting macro shots, portraits or available-light photos. Like all Canon EF-S Lenses, its use is restricted to the EOS 20D, EOS Digital Rebel and EOS Digital Rebel XT cameras. Accepts both MR-14EX Macro Ring Lite and MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite Circular aperature design - natural highlights, even stopped down two stops

Bring small things into full-sized view with the Canon EF 60mm macro USM lens. Macro lenses can uncover detail that would be impossible to detect by the eye and give new perspective to extremely minute subjects such as insects or the petals of a small flower, and this lens is no exception. The 60mm lens offers an angle of view that's equivalent to a 96mm lens on a 35mm camera, along with a floating optical system that can focus down to life-size 1:1 magnification. The inner focusing system, meanwhile, is driven by a silent and powerful ring-type ultra-sonic monitor (USM), meaning the lens's overall length never changes during focus. Ultimately, the multi-purpose lens is equally at home shooting macro shots, portraits, or available-light photos. Like all Canon EF-S lenses, this lens is restricted to the EOS 20D, EOS Digital Rebel, and EOS Digital Rebel XT cameras.

A fine lens but not much sharper than the standard zoom that comes with the XTi.......2007-11-18
I like the lens but am disappointed in its responsiveness. Since the focus range is so great, you really have to prefocus if you want any kind of focusing speed. The ability to manually focus while using auto focus is a nice feature. Prior to this I had been using some expensive close up filters with the standard Rebel XTi zoom lens and getting good results. I haven't done a side by side comparison which would tell me more once I uploaded it into my photo program and had a chance to magnify the image. I suspect I would find the edges sharper with the Macro. Still, if I could do it over again, I would opt out of this purchase.
Canon Rules!.......2007-11-16
A great lens! The USM is fast and inaudible a great feature. Sharpness and light gathering capabilities are excellent. I have been a Canon user since the late 60's my first Canon was an FTQL check out Canon's web site and you can see every camera and it's history that they ever made, very interesting.
A great Canon macro lens!.......2007-10-17
This is a light weight lens that is a pleasure to use whether you're taking photographs of little critters or jewelry!
As prized as all my L glass!!.......2007-09-29
This is the first lens I added to my 20D kit, and seven more lens purchases later this little lens remains one of my favorites. Thel 1:1 magnification gives amazing macro results; when used properly images are utterly crisp with great clarity, contrast and at 2.8 you'll get amazing bokeh. As the owner of a few heavy L lenses I really appreciate the compact size of the 60 and the build quality is impressive at this price point. When compared to the build of the 50mm 1.4 (another great little lens) the 60 blows it away. Manual focus is smooth and overall the lens offers a solid feel.
I've recommended this lens to a handful of fellow shooters and all who have bought it have not been disappointed. In addition to being a great compact macro it's great for portraits, making it all the more 'affordable.' EFS might be an issue for anyone considering a full-frame upgrade in the future. However, if you're like me, you'll keep a 1.6 crop sensor as a back-up and can use this lens on that body. I know others who love the 100mm but as someone who has acquired some big, heavy lenses that take up lots of room in my camera bag, I love being able to stash this little lens and go!
Excellent macro lens........2007-09-21
This is a great macro lens for a pro or a beginer. It produces very sharp photos, and works great for a semi-telphoto lens and close up portraits. I love this lens for the fact that you can use onboard flash for 1:1 work, any other macro lens you will need alot of light or a dedicated macro flash for up close work. Great price for a macro/2.8 prime lens with USM and full time manual focusing.
Manual focus is recommended during 1:1 work, but it will still work in AF close to 1:1, the focus speed is very fast for normal lighting conditions.
