The AVO-V2A2 balun is the perfect solution for transmitting two channels of composite video or a Y/C video signal, and an ultra-high quality stereo audio up to *2200 feet over structured cabling, such as Cat 5. Used in pairs, AVO-V2A2 baluns replace bulky coaxial cable and utilize a building's existing structured cabling network. Two AVO-V2A2's are needed for a complete system, one to transmit and one to receive. No power is needed. Sold individually. *Distances and picture quality may be affected by cable grade, cable quality, source and destination equipment, RF and electrical interference, and cable patches. Intelix specifications are based on straight-through cabling with standard-grade Cat 5.

It's the ideal lens for portraits, sports photography, nature photography, and other types of photography that frequently use the telephoto range. The new multi layer lens coating reduces flare and ghost, which is a common problem with digital cameras and also creates an optimum colour balance Macro shooting with maximum magnification 1:2 High optical performance is demonstrated throughout the entire zoom range. It also has a switch that converts the lens to macro photography at focal lengths between 200mm and 300mm with a minimum focusingdistance of 95cm (37.4 inches). In normal mode the minimum focusing distance is 150cm (59.1 inches) at all zoom settings. Maximum magnification between 200mm and 300mm is 1:2.9 to 1:2.

Great Lens - I now won't settle for less magnification.......2007-07-04
I really like being able to have the extra 100mm focal length beyond the traditional 200 or 210mm. I have used it numerous times in conjunction with the image stabilization of my Sony A100 to get some shots I could not have previously obtained (including shots of Alaskan whales). Also, the lens survived landing on asphalt with its UV lens protector becoming history. I removed the protector and was amazed to find that the lens still worked perfectly!
Poor packaging.......2007-06-30
This lens was not packaged securely and was knocking around during transit in an oversized box. Very dissapointed and now worried if damage was done and will this lens last long. Never again with this place.

I found the lens to be unacceptably noisy in zoom operation. Also did not like just how much the zoom extended.
Excellent in its class.......2007-01-12
Performs well for this class of lens, and really can't be beaten for the price. Fine for macro work when you can be a meter or so from your subject (you'll need a tripod or steady hands + image stabilization); sometimes this is actually a plus (i.e. for subjects that you can't or don't want to get close to like easily frightened insects). AF tends to hunt a little but is very useable except in low light.
The combination of image quality, wide range, and macro capability at THIS PRICE is why I would rate it 5 stars. I'm pleased with my own results, and after reading tons of reviews of this and its competition, I'm convinced there is no better deal if a 70-300mm f/4-5.6 is what you're looking for.
Excellent and versatile lens.......2007-01-06
I purchased this lens as a potential lightweight replacement for my old Minolta 75-300 (the big beercan). I shoot with a Konica Minolta 5D. The Minolta is an excellent lens, but heavy and lacking some sharpness beyond 250mm. The Sigma is at least the equal of it in picture quality, it's much lighter, and it adds an excellent macro capability...1:2 magnification at 300mm. The only drawbacks is that the zoom ring is rather tight and tends to stick, and the lens can hunt for focus in dim lighting (but so did the Minolta). This lens, coupled with a standard zoom, like the Minolta/Sony 18-70 kit lens, the Minolta 24-85, or the Sigma 17-70, makes an excellent, inexpensive, lightweight, 2 lens kit that provides coverage from 17/24 to 300mm with excellent macro capability to boot. Highly recommended.

This is a very good lens for the money. If you are beginning with a DLSR and want a lens that can produce good images without the expense, this is definetley the lens for you. I took this lens out and shot the Blue Angels during an air show hand holding every shot using it with a Sony A100 DSLR. Pictures were awesome with the lens, I used a UV Filter Lens as I do on all my lenses. I recommend this lens to anyone that wants a 70-300mm Telephoto Zoom with Macro for a low cost.
field test.......2007-05-21
I bought this lens to use on the Sony-A100 and after field testing it over the last two weeks I give it four stars. The only "glitch" the I found is the stiffness of the zoom control, which may loosen up with use. I would recommend this lens to anyone.
