Does the job with little fuss.......2007-12-25
This does the job with very little fuss. It was a bit unclear on where to plug in the satellite, but we did get it all figured out. The picture quality is the same as it was before set-up. We can play games, watch DVDs, and watch satellite tv. It was a much cheaper solution than buying a new game room tv.
Plan on having it laying down. It won't stand up, even in its stand, once all the cords are plugged in.

It can't do SVideo and RCA at the same time. If there's an SVideo input it shuts off the RCA outputs. Other than that it's perfect, works exactly as expected.

I had been looking for something like this for some time. Originally, I had a single connection RF modulator from Radio Shack but as more entertainment devices (ie. Wii, PS2) entered my home it was time for something bigger.
The problem was I couldn't find a suitable RF modulator anywhere for a long time. This of course meant pulling those red/white/yellow cables to switch with others whenever we wanted to use a different device. It was annoying but then I found this on Amazon and was sold.
My days of cable pulling and switching are long over as this product has far and away exceeded my expectations. It will automatically switch between devices when you turn them on or if you have multiple things on at once you can manually switch back and forth between them using its front buttons.
The only reason I don't give it a full 5 star rating is the stand it has. I couldn't stand it vertically as shown in the picture because the weight of the cables would pull it over. It can also lay on the stand horizontally which works but every so often I'll have to push down on it since the suction cup feet don't hold very well against the cable's weight.
I might try using the front end connectors for one device to see if cords on that end serves to better balance it though. All in all a great little product that's been working fine for me for months now.

This product was well thought-out but has a few technical issues. It works exactly as described in the product's description. However, there is a minor flaw in the technical design which allows audible noise to be heard when switching from one input to the next when only one or two inputs are engaged. The noise is not very loud. I discovered that the noise can be totally eliminated if all the inputs are engaged.
If you are looking for a switch with this functionality, I would recommend this one.
Works great when it works.......2007-09-08
Purchased mine from Walmart. The selector seems to have problem staying tuned to the right channel. Screen starts to flicker and then goes completely dark even when there's only a single source. If there are two or more signals coming in it doesn't know what to do. Changing to manual mode is not so easy either.

Good Step Up From Kit Lens.......2007-12-24
I've had this lens for about a year and have been very pleased with it. I spent a good bit of time traveling around Europe with this lens as the primary work horse and was very happy with the results. The auto focusing is very quick and quiet, produces a good quality picture, and is an overall good value for the price. Those interested in purchasing filters for the lens for protection or other effects should get a 58mm filter. It's certainly not on the level of a professional grade lens but provides a good step up from a basic kit lens.
canon lens.......2007-12-15
This lens should have come with the canon rebel xt.It is noticable improvement over the kit lens.Within a month i purchaced the 70-200F4,non i.s.L lens and love it.I needed a better quality all around lens and chose the 28-105 usm.Image and sharpness are good at f5.6 or better and overall results are very good outdoors.I have only taken 30 or so shots with it so far but plan on using it alot in the future.I purchaced the canon hood at the same time.My next investment will be a good flash,but for now i am set on lenses.For the price you cant beat this lens,i recommend it as and upgrade for rebel xt kit,or buy the body and lens seperate.
The Ideal Walk-Around Lens for This Category.......2007-11-21
I've had this lens for about a month now and have used it on several occassions with wonderful results. The first time I layed my hands on its well made body I was changed forever. Moving up from the kit lens to this is a WORLD of difference. Images are sharper, more colorful, and the image is ALWAYS exactly the way I want it.
The 28-105mm's build quality is impeccable with near silent focusing and non-creeping zoom. My XT has always felt a little too light and breakable for me so adding this lens to it made it seem better somehow.
Moreover, with the EW-63 lens hood flare is not a problem. Some reviewers have said images are too soft on the 105mm end but if you don't shoot graph paper for a living it doesn't really matter. I was also worried that I would miss the extra 10mm that the kit lens offered but I've rarely thought about it since I've gotten this lens.
Many of you are also probably deciding between the 28-105mm and 28-135mm IS for your walk around lens. Ignoring the extra 35mm (I never really needed 105mm myself) the IS feature is just not worth the extra $$ you have to shell out unless you know that you're doing sports or night photography.
I could not recommend this lens more for any hobbyist looking for great photos.
Great lens! Can't go wrong for the price!.......2007-10-09
This is a excellent lens for the price. I've brought it on vacation several times since purchasing it in mid-August and I find that this is the lense I've used probably 90% of the time on my Digital Rebel XTI.
Pros: Autofocusing is very fast and quiet!! Sharp and solid build.
Cons: Autofocus shifts/stutters slightly in extreme low-light situations. No other faults that I've noticed yet.
First Purchased Lens, Great Buy!.......2007-10-05
This is my first lens that I have purchased for my new Canon XTi and I couldn't be happier. The lens shoots way better than the kit lens that came with the camera, so far i haven't seen anything that I don't like about it! I recommend this lens to anyone who wants to upgrade from the kit lens and not spend a whole lot of money, its built great, shoots great, and the auto focus is faster and quieter than the kit lens. Can't beat it for the price, my local camera store wanted $330 and they woulda had to order it! Amazon comes through again!
