Product Description
TDK Music CD-Rs are audio-only CD-R discs designed specifically for use in home audio CD-R recording decks. The ultimate high-fidelity medium for the home recordist, Music CD-R discs record digital audio data in the standard compact disc 16-bit, 44.1 kHz format, bringing an unprecedented level of sonic quality and flexibility to the home recording market. Once recorded using a consumer CD recorder, TDK 100% Certified Music CD-R discs may be played back on all existing CD audio players, including home decks, car stereos and personal CD portables. Music CD-R discs are high-reliability, high-durability media that incorporate the latest TDK third-generation CD-R technologies, including ISOPURE recording dye technology utilizing a re-tuned MSi (metal-stabilized cyanine) recording material for higher sensitivity and improved Reflex Mirror Tuning reflective layer technology.

Simple and clean pattern on surface.......2006-07-16
I love this because the surface design of TDK is clean and simple: it is much easier to manipulate your labeling or artworks without much headaches (if you choose using CD labeling printouts). Some CDs have a color or dark design surface that give you trouble if you label things carefully with lots of remarks. Many times those dark surface design can come through too when you use the CD labeling over it, not so good. CDRWs, CDRs, DVDs of TDK I have have an empty surface with light grey line and tiny clean dots pattern on it, FYI.
When you buy blank CDs you get to do something to label it. I don't have much trouble with TDK blank medias so far, burning-wise or data loss. However, if you don't label much on your media surface, then it does not much matter what it is besides reliablity and price I think, should you consider other big brands. I try to migrate all CD data to DVDs, for fear of data loss and technology shifts over times, for better or for worse.
Anybody know the dye color of these CD-Rs?.......2003-01-01
I'm giving these cdr's a 5 (although I don't actually own the actual product) b/c I know TDK makes quality products, but anyone know what color dye these cd-r's use? Hopefully, it is the dark blue one, but it seems rare.
Great cdr.......2002-09-14

The best CD-Rs.......2002-06-19
My first experience with CD-Rs was a long long time ago. It was with some external SCSI Pinnacle burners. No 'burn-proof' technology, 'buffer underrun' messages popped up the very next second you tried to multitask (and it shouldn't be a problem on NT, right?). Then I had Plextor, HP, Sony, TDK burners and writers.
I tried various CD-Rs from Memorex, Sony, HP, Ricoh, even some no-name brands. TDKs always gave me the best results, even with old burners. Right now I don't buy any other CD-Rs but TDK. I have an old HP8100i burner on my old Pentium-Pro PC and I didn't have a coaster in a long time. And it's not even worth mentioning about it when I burn a disk on new veloCD on my P4.
I make data back-ups regularly, burn some music CDs (both MP3s and audio), make copies of some software I own, keep photos from my digital camera, I even have my computer's Ghost image on them. I use both Roxio and Nero. They work on my PC, on my portable CD-player, on my CD deck, in my car, at home and in the office. It works like a charm every time. Luck? Don't think so. Quality? You bet.
And, yeah, for coasters I go to Ikea.
No problems........2002-06-09
I've had zero problems with these TDKs except of my own making. They are 32X, as is my Backpack burner, so it's a perfect match. The price is awesome, so even the occasional coaster is not too serious.
