Excellect Television.......2007-01-20
We bought this television in Jan. 04 and have never had any problems with it. The picture is outstanding and no problems with the sound. We have hdtv cable so maybe that helps. I hope by writing this review I don't jinx myself. I would buy this t.v. again. Don't let the negative reviews bother you---we are quite happy.
KF60WE610..... BEAUTIFUL.......2005-05-06
I've had mine since last May and I love it. I just had the picture calibrate and it's even greater I didn't think it was possible but it's absolutly the best picture you could possibly get in HD AND DVD I've always been a Mits. tv owner but I'm glad I went with this SONY model. [...]. You wouln't belive how it looks after he is done. WOW is all I can really say. I also have the HR10-250 HD TIVO and I can watch all recorded shows in HD and you can't even tell they are recorded they look just like your watching a live show instead of having that taped look. Well when I seen this board I had to write because I wouln't be doing all of you a favor by giving you a heads up on this TV I also looked and searched before I bought this. I wanna say that if you are going to spend thousands of dollars on any HDTV you should spend the extra 400 to 500 dollars to have it ISF CALIBRATE I didn't know this man at all but he had some great reviews on HDTVoice.com he travels all over the country so you have to set up an appointment. Again to anyone who has or is gonna buy a HDTV you should put into your budget the cost to get it calibrate it makes such a difference. WELL ENJOY I WATCH EVERYTHING IN HIGH DEF NOW AND IT'S GREAT SO I HOPE AND WISH ALL OF YOU WELL ON YOUR JORNEY TO YOUR NEW WORLD OF TV WATCHING IN HIGH DEF. [...]
The Most Bang for Your Buck.......2004-08-13
I love this TV. Period. I paid $3,499 for it at a franchise electronics store; it was delivered four days later; and now I can't wait to get home from work every night and watch it. Watching a high quality DVD through one of the two HD inputs is an awesome experience.
At the store, I looked at it next to a Mitsubishi 65" CRT and a Samsung 55" plasma. It annihilated the CRT and held its own with the plasma (for about half the price of the plasma). That is what sold me.
It has just the right number of inputs for my AV system. The picture quality for HD input is incredible. For SD inputs, it is so-so, but that is mostly the lower quality signal.
It is also a great looking cabinet.
I had read that Sony had some problems with the model's lamp blowing out earlier this year, but I understood that was fixed; so I took a chance. My unit has a June 2004 manufacturing date, and I have had it about a week now. No problems; just a beautiful picture at a very affordable price.
BIG , BEAUTIFUL, BLANK.......2004-07-09
I bought my Sony Grand Wega 60" TV in March. Up until 4 days ago I enjoyed the most beautiful picture quality that anyone could ask for. While I was watching a program in High definition and surround sound, everything went black. The bulb went out. I have kinda been expecting this after reading all the problems that Sony has been having with the bulbs going out. There is a article in HOME THEATER MAGAZINE, That states the Sony engineering team has found that there is a combination issue between the lamp and the circuitry in the lamp block, causing the inability for the TV lamp to power on. A service bulletin has been issued authorizing Sony Service Centers and Authorized Service Centers to replace the lamp and /or lamp block in affected units at no cost to the consumer.Consumers who may be experiencing this symptom should contact Sony at (800) 222-sony to schedule a service call.
It's been about a year and a half since Sony replaced the bulb in my TV and it's still going strong. I am still totally in love with it. Four of my friends bought the same TV after viewing mine. I couldn't live without it now. I ended up buying a 850 watt 5.1 surround sound system from Sony too. My home theatre is so much better then going to the movies. I have people comming over all the time to my CINEMA They say it's FANTASTIC !!
******** JUST GOT MY 60" SONY! **************.......2004-04-24
MY REVIEW ON THE KF60WE610 SONY VEGA:
I WAS STUCK IN THE NEOLITHIC PERIOD OF TELEVISION FOR TOO LONG. MY 1997 27" SHARP WAS SO DATED. THE OLD OAK ENTERTAINMENT UNIT WAS ONLY BIG ENOUGH TO SHOW OFF A 27", BUT BIG ENOUGH TO COVER A WHOLE WALL! OH, MY GOD!
I STARTED GOING TO AUDIO VIDEO STORES IN MY AREA AND STARTED MY SEARCH FOR A LCD/HDTV. THE INTERNET WAS A GOOD SOURCE OF INFORMATION TO HELP ME MAKE A DECISION. I DID THE SAME YOU ARE DOING RIGHT NOW, READING OTHERS OPINIONS ON AMAZON AND OTHER WEBSITES. BEWARE OF THE NEGATIVITY AND RESENTMENTS YOU'LL READ OF PAST SONY BUYERS! THEY POO-POO SO MUCH, IT'S DEPRESSING. IT ALMOST MADE ME BUY SOMETHING ELSE.
TODAY, I CAN SAY I HAVE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE. MAGNOLIA DELIVERED MY 60" GRAND VEGA YESTERDAY. WHAT CAN I SAY, BIG SCREEN, BIG SOUND, BIG ENTERTAINMENT! I DO HAVE A LOCAL CABLE COMPANY (TIME WARNER) THAT IS SENDING MY SIGNAL. THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS THE PICTURE IS SO CLEAR. SO TAKE THIS INTO ACCOUNT WHEN BUYING YOURS. THEY HAVE HI-DEF CHANNELS THAT KICK ASS! INHD, INHD 2, HD NET, HD MOVIES AND MOST LOCAL CHANNELS IN HI-DEF SIGNALS. SPORTS, TRAVEL, WORLD NEWS AND MORE.
OK, THE TV. NO NONSENSE. I BOUGHT THE MARCH 2004 MODEL KF60WE610. I READ ABOUT BULB BURN OUT PROBLEMS AND ON-OFF SWITCH PROBLEMS. SONY SAID THEY HAVE CORRECTED THESE IN THE NEWER 2004 MODELS. I WILL SEE IF THIS IS TRUE. I WANTED THE HIGHEST LCD SCREEN RESOLUTION MY MONEY COULD BUY. THE SONY VEGA HAS A 1366 X 788. IT WAS BETTER THAN SOME 1200 X 700 FOR LESS MONEY. THE VIEWING DISTANCE IS VERY IMPORTANT. MININIUM DISTANCE IS 7.2 FT. MAXIMIUM IS 12.5. I AM VIEWING FROM ABOUT 11 FT. THIS IS FOR THE BEST "IMMERSIVE" TV VIEWING POSSIBLE. MY FIRST DAY OF HD VIEWING I WAS STUCK! MY AMAZEMENT PARALYSED MY SENSES. THERE SHOULD BE A WARNING TO NEW BUYERS OF THIS SHOCK AND AAH. REMEMBER, I WENT FROM A 27" BLURRY TUBE TYPE TO A 60" (16:9 ASPECT RATIO) HI-DEFINTION WIDE SCREEN LCD FLAT PANEL. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I AM IMPRESSED. THANKS SONY FOR BRINGING ME INTO THE 21ST CENTURY OF TV VIEWING.
AFTER WATCHING HD CHANNELS, IT IS HARD TO WATCH THE OLD ANALOG SIGNALS. HI-DEF VIEWING IS HERE. HI-DEF CHANNEL COMPANY'S ARE THE NEWEST AND MOST HI-POWER PROGRAMMING. THE COLOR, THE SHOOTING LOCATIONS, THE DIGITAL SOUND, HD CHANNELS RULE!
IF YOUR CLOSE TO BUYING A NEW FLAT SCREEN, GET LCD, NOT PLASMA! PLASMA'S ARE CONSIDERED DISPOSABLE TV'S. ONCE THEY BURN OUT- THERE OUT. THAT'S THE A V GUYS RESPONSE TO PLASMA. LCD WILL AND ARE GETTING BIGGER AND MORE AFFORDABLE, (DROPPING 2% A MONTH...A QUOTE FROM THE CES CONVENTION IN LAS VAGAS). BUT DON'T WAIT TILL YOUR IN THE PINE BOX. GET A LCD/HDTV AND LIVE! AFTER READING THIS REVIEW OVER AND OVER, IT SOUNDS LIKE I WORK FOR SONY. I DON'T. I AM JUST SHARING MY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS WITH YOU SO YOU CAN TAKE IT FROM THERE. NOTHING IS PERFECT, BUT THIS LAST 24 HOURS OF HI-DEFINITION TV IS CLOSE TO THE REAL THING.
I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO POO POO TOO, IF NEEDED.

Sonos In Depth
The ZP100 is just one part of a complete Sonos Digital Music System. To make your system complete, you'll also need the Sonos Controller. With a wireless Sonos Controller in hand, you'll have instant access to all your digital music, plus Internet radio, subscriptions to online audio services, and even music from your favorite CD or MP3 player. Use the Sonos Controller to access your entire digital music collection and Internet radio from the palm of your hand. Turn off the upstairs music while you're downstairs. Change the song in the kitchen from the den. The Controller's full-color 3.5-inch screen lets you see album art, browse playlists, get detailed track info, and more. To start listening, just pick a room, pick a song, and hit play. The Controller also allows you to queue the right tunes for the right moment; you can build, edit, and save playlists right from the palm of your hand.
With Sonos ZonePlayers in the rooms of your choice, you can play the same song in different rooms, or different songs in different rooms. As mentioned, you can have up to 32 Sonos ZonePlayers throughout your house -- from the bedroom to the backyard. Connect your first ZonePlayer to your router and all the others work wirelessly. Choose between the ZP100 featured on this page, or the ZP80 which does not have a built-in amplifier but connects directly to your home theater or stereo. Or better yet, choose both for the ultimate in multi-room music.
If you're just getting started with your Sonos system, you'll want to check out Sonos' ZP80 and ZP100 Digital Music System Bundles, which combine two ZP80 or ZP100 units respectively with a Sonos Controller. The bundles offer an easy, economical way to get in on the Sonos action. Then, when you're ready to expand you can purchase a ZP80 or ZP100 for more rooms in your home.
Sonos Setup
You don't need to be a professional installer to set up a Sonos system, or a technical wizard to use it. Sonos was designed to work right out of the box. All you need is a high-speed Internet connection and a router to get started. Then, unpack your components, lay them out in your home, and the result will be music to your ears.
Software
Sonos offers desktop software for PC and Mac that's as simple to use as the Sonos controller. Designed with a user interface to accommodate a larger screen, the Sonos Desktop Controller software for PC and Mac will guide you through both set up and music sharing. It offers all the same functionality as the Sonos Controller, but instead of being in the palm of your hand, it's all on your desktop.
Use the software to set up your system, as well as music sharing. It also helps you set up music folders on your hard drive so they can be shared across all ZonePlayers. The software provides control of your Sonos Digital Music System from your desktop, and you can use it to add and edit your choice of Internet radio stations.

Simply awesome!.......2007-11-04
For years I longed for an easy to setup, easy to use system that would allow me to listen to my music library in any room or in all rooms. A few years back I purchased the Olive Musica. While it is a nice system for archiving it did not allow the whole house music listening experience I really wanted. After reading several reviews for the Sonos system I decided to give it a try.
I purchased two ZP100, two ZP80 and two controllers. The entire setup, including loading the Sonos software on my iMac, connecting all players and updating the music library from iTunes to the Sonos Desktop Controller took less than 60 minutes!
The Sonos system is fantastic for playing the music you have stored on your HD. Additional features like Internet radio stations, Sirius/XM radio and Rhapsody are icing on an already sweet cake. We are currently building a home that will include an eight zone Sonos system with six ZP100 players.
The ZP100 player is the perfect solution for a room without an A/V receiver (dining room, kitchen, bedrooms, etc.) Just provide power and your own speakers, it really is that simple. The 50 watt amplifier provides ample power for nearly all users. If you really want to crank it up just make sure to use more sensitive speakers. Users looking for "concert level" volumes should probably select a ZP80 connected to a receiver.
Overall I have no complaints. The entire Sonos experience has been great!
Great system.......2006-12-13
After fiddling with the idea of a wired music system, and then abandoning it, followed by a short-lived experiment with the Roku Soundbridge, my client and I decided to go for the Sonos ZP system. It works perfectly. Sound reproduction at the wired player, as well as the wireless player downstairs is actually better than the sound through an iPod, thanks to the built in amplifier. The Roku Soundbridge, in comparison, actually sounds worse than the connected iPod, even when it is wired directly through Ethernet. Set up of the zone player system is easy, and smooth.
While expensive, this system is worth the extra money. Highly recommended.
Better design than Apple!!.......2006-11-24
Sonos is truly an amazing product. I wanted a system that could both stream music wirelessly to multiple rooms in perfect sync OR send different songs to different rooms. Sonos is the only product that does this.
I've now had it for two days, and it's just a mind-blowing product. In addition to playing music in perfect sync, there are just so many things about Sonos that is well thought out. Just an example - I have a large music library, and on my iPod I find it very annoying to scroll through the lists. Sonos answer? Well, the Sonos remote has the same type of scrolling wheel, but also a set of three buttons that are used differently depending on what you are doing. When you are scrolling lists, one button is used for "Power Scrolling", which let's you pick the first letter, and once selected you've now jumpted to that section. Simple, but brilliant.
Another great feature - the ability to re-arrange/add to your playlists using only the remote! Locate a song and select it, and Sonos wilk ask you it want to play it now, play next, or at the end of the playlist. Or, re-arrange a playlist in free-form - just select a song, use wheel to "move it, then "place" it somewhere else.
And let's talk about the music library features...all other system I've seen do their own indexing, which typically is not done to your personal preferenes in terms of categories/genres, etc. So does Sonos...but Sonos offers an additional way of viewing your library - the folder structure on your computer! That way, I can browse my music the way I'm most familiar with it.
Controlling volume, letting multiple players play in sync, is all very simple to do - whether from the remote or from the PC/Mac software.
The link to Internet radio stations is awesome - I particularly like the integration with Rhapsody..the fact could instantly see all my existing playlists was truly mindblowing.
Other cool features...the Alarm and Clock (seems to be set correctly via the internet). Updating the software for the units and the remote was a breeze - the remote tells you an update is available, then installs and you're done.
I could go on and on about the coolness of this product...the fact it also acts as a network switch, that each unit allows additional sound inputs (allowing you to for instance plug in an iPod and play throughout the house), the ability to create playlists with songs from both your computer and Rhapsody, the equalizer, the individual room volume controls, the subwoofer out, the simplicity to add more players/zones...
Simply an amazing product, both the hardware, software, and the overall design.
Thank you, Sonos!
