Surprisingly good sound in a small, portable package. If you expect Bose Sounddock sound you will be disappointed but for an extremely portable device it sounds great. The price is an excellent deal.

Very good speakers for the price; they have good base and are a bargain. You can spend a lot more money and get better speakers, but for my mp3 player I find these are all I need.

I bought this on a Friday special for $20. What a great sound, bigger than I expected coming from something that sits in the palm of my hand. Not only is the sound very adequate, but I just love carrying my stereo from room to room as I do housework or projects that take me from one end of the house to the other.
It's also the pefect size and great sound for our 22' RV.
Awesome sound, but no a/c adapter........2007-11-26
I love this little speaker. Compared to the little one my son bought at Radio Shack, it has unbelievable sound quality. However, I paid only $17 on a Gold Box deal, so I am taking that into consideration. I would never pay retail, altho' some of you might think it is worth it to get this kind of bass. It is completely portable which makes my ipod so much more useable both in the car & at home. The only thing I am unhappy with is that no A/C adaptor is included. However, my husband said A/C adaptors are easy to get, so once I have that, you won't hear one more complaint from me.

The best tiny speaker.......2007-12-08
If you want the best tiny speaker, this is it. I'm talking about a speaker that will fit in your pocket if you have baggy pants. I have A Bunch of portable speakers. This has the best sound quality. Of course, it matters where you place it to get the most out of its bass. My son likes this one the best. Now, if you want the most bass and loudness, BY FAR, go with the mm28. It blows all other small portable speakers away, but it's double the size of this one and is heavy in the mid-bass area. If you put it on something hard and run it at a higher volume, it shakes and rattles on the surface. How many portable speakers have that problem? If your traveling with a laptop, then the Saitek might be better. If you plan on bringing music to the park, then the mm28 has 4 times the volume and 10 times the bass. Buy dot com had these for $12 delivered and the mm28 for about $16 delivered. Just to give you an idea of the mark-up on these. Still, if you only want the best, I believe each of these are the best depending on what you are looking for. The Saitek has about two times the mass of your standard mouse - and the same shape. mm28 = tad bigger than 11x4x1.
Simple with good sound.......2007-10-27
The great thing about this speaker is it's simplicity. There's no volume control or on/off switch. The volume is controlled by the attached device. The power turns on when the audio input cable is plugged into the speaker. If you turn off your audio device (MP3 player, cell phone, PDA, etc.) the speaker powers down after a few minutes to save on battery power. It does not come with an AC power supply, but one is available directly from Saitek. I use rechargeable batteries so it doesn't need an electrical outlet and is more portable.
You won't get hard pounding bass out of this, but for small room's it will work well. I use it in the bathroom getting ready each day and it fills the room with sound nicely. Plus, it's nice and small so it doesn't take up much room on the counter.
I highly recommend it.
Excellent small portable speaker with great stereo sound.......2007-10-26
I was very impressed with the sound this little speaker can put out. For the size it has surprisingly good richness to the sound it produces. Though it will never compare to a good pair of headphones or a quality home stereo setup, for what it is it does it outstandingly.
My only complaint is that it does not come with an AC adapter. Though it has a port to plug in an adapter, it is probably the one accessory it did not come with.
That's why it get's 4 not 5 stars. It does have great sound, all the cables you really need, a nice cloth carry case, just not the AC adatper.
No big deal and as prices come down this is becoming an even better deal.

This is a great PERSONAL speaker for your ipod. It plays just as loud as a clock radio would -- great for a desk at work. Love it, Love it!

After trying 2 other portable speaker systems, I choose this one because it had superior sound quality. It delivers louder bass so I don't need to swith my player into bass boost mode.
Very simple to operate - just plug and play. No volume level settings or On-Off switch. I can't yet comment about battery life. Unit sounds best when positioned close to you and with music volume at 75% or so. Some distortion may be noticable at very high volume levels.
Overall, very satisfied.
