The USB connector allows access to multimedia jpg, mp3, mp3-pro and alb files of most USB-sticks and most digital cameras (USB 1.1 memory-class device). Awesome purchase.......2007-09-15
Ok, I've had this TV for six months now. I've found that I can usually judge a product after six months because thats when stuff usually shows how it wears down and such. I have to say that this TV has really impressed me.
The picture quality on this TV is just amazing. Even when I'm watching regular cable (I don't have any HD channels) the picture quality is great. The TV has an auto-adjust so you can get the best quality of picture possible even when watching regular cable. I really enjoy watching my UGA games in all of its 42-inch LCD glory. I've also got a Playstation 3 hooked up through HDMI and it looks great. All the games that I've played on this TV compared to other TVs look awesome. Blu-Ray movies also look great on this television. The only complaint I really have is that this TV only goes up to 720p, but it really doesn't matter because 720p is good, just there is better out there (1080i, 1080p).
The sound is good. I play music, movies and games on this television and they all sound great. If you have a better surround sound system I would recommend using it over the standard sound though, because it really can't compete with that.
The design is very slick and is great to show off to friends. I can't count the number of people who have walked into my house with a look of awe once they see the TV. I get compliments on it all the time. It is truely great looking.
A lot of the complaints people have with this TV is the remote. I can see where they are coming from, because the remote is pretty big and can be annoying as hell at times. But you could just get a universal remote that suits you better and that problem could be fixed.
Overall, this is a great HDTV though, and I would recommend it to anyone.
good picture, annoying remote.......2007-02-09
I don't know if this problem is unique to the set that I have, but the remote simply does not work unless it is pointed directly at the green light on the bottom left part of the TV. Even when the remoted is pointed directly at the receiver, it lags enough for me to press the button one too many times. It is getting very tiresome.
I also have problems with the TV losing some of the programmed channels. One minute the channel is available, but after changing over to another channel, the previous channel is gone. It sometimes comes back in a matter of minutes, other times, in several hours, sometimes never.
Other than that, I think everyone will agree that the picture quality is very good. The black levels are acceptable, but it can get a bit hard to see dark features on screen when the room light is dimmed.
Awesome TV, fantastic picture...........2007-01-23
This TV is great--we bought it at Costco as well for
<$1400 shipped to the house, and it has not disappointed us at all. We don't even have the HD service hooked up yet either, and we haven't missed it. No problems so far and it has been 2 months now--we have hooked up our XBOX 360, Nintendo Wii, and even the PS3 to this TV and they all look fantastic, so when we get HD service, I'm sure it'll be great. After comparing other LCD flat screen TVs with comparable pricing side by side to this one, this one is the one we always gravitated toward as far as picture. The only thing we would have liked would have been another HDMI hookup, there is only 1 on this television. Otherwise, it's an amazing set!

I actually also did a lot of research about plasmas and lcd before zeroing on this TV. I got it from Costco online for $1400 (includes everything) over thanksgiving. I'm not even watching HD yet! It has some real cool features like auto picture adjust (lot of plasmas dont have it) which makes the picture better looking than watching the wide faces of people in widescreen mode. It also has a software upgrade feature which I am going to try in a few days using an external USB flash memory. I saw movies using my DVD player and Bose surround sound and it was an awesome experience. Can't wait to get my HD DVR.
An LCD for a Plasma Price.......2006-12-17
I had done a fair amount of research before buying this set. I decided upon an LCD because of the picture quality and that it also generated less heat than a plasma.
I am very pleased with the quality of the images on the screen, and very surprised at the decent sound of the speakers that came with it. We have some HD channels and they look great. Actually regular TV looks good too.
My main goal was to have this TV for DVDs. I have hooked up a spare DVD player, that I had only spent less than $50 on, to it just to see how things look. Wow! Also I have not used the HDMI connection, which I understand makes things even better. In fact, I am running the thin, inexpensive RCA cables that came with the DVD, and the cables supplied by my cable company for tv, and everything looks great.
I'll do everything right before I hang it on the wall. I would expect things to look even better then.

Fun to play with.......2007-08-17
I bought this at big lots on sale for $5. I didn't expect much epecially the fact that there is one button and a big wheel. It's fun to play with, but all it does is make the LP scrating noise, so don't expect to make a big DJ career of remixing songs from buying this, but good for the mini-DJ! You also can't save remixes (Just remix it again, you can make it sound the same easy.) NOTE: This works with the 4th Generation Photo iPod, the iPod Mini, and the iPod Video. I DOES NOT WORK WITH THE IPOD NANO!!!!! I think it might work with the 3rd Generation, but I'm not sure. If you just want to make your songs sound cooler buy it! (and if you really want to do more with your songs, also consider iPod Beatz!)
