The ST-218B appears to be a well-constructed robust phone (i.e. heavy with solid buttons). The speaker phone has good audio quality and can be adjusted to a high volume. On the down side this is a two line phone with a single connection point so both lines have to be in the same plug.. For those with DSL and other applications where line one and line two have separate connections, you must buy a splitter to merge two separate lines into one connection. If you attempt to connect a splitter to the ST-218B, you can not seat the splitter fully into the phone because the receptacle is slightly recessed and the latch that keeps the splitter from pulling free will not catch. You either have to tape the splitter to the back of the phone or build a short phone wire pigtail with the proper connectors so the pigtail connects to the splitter on one end and the ST-218B on the other. If you have two lines in one connector or you have the skill and tools to work around the above problem, this is a good two line phone with big office quality.
