Panasonic's KX-TG5240M utilizes the 5.8 GHz band and digital frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology for increased call security and range and for less interference. This system comes with one handset but can accommodate up to three more (for a total of four). Compatible with Caller ID/call waiting, the KX-TG5240M offers a 50-station caller ID memory and dialer, accessible through the handset's three-line backlit LCD. It also features talking caller ID, which audibly announces who's calling through the handset and base speakerphones. Rounding out the main features are an integrated digital answering system and a light-up antenna on the handset that flashes to alert you to new calls and messages. The handsets also offer a variety of ring tones and melodies to choose from.
The KX-TG5240M allows you to pre-program frequently called numbers, even for chain dialing (ideal for calling automated systems that require a series of numeric inputs). It's also Caller IQ compatible, a service provides updates on weather, sports, horoscopes, and more; the information is sent directly to your telephone and displayed on the handset screen. (Caller ID and call waiting require subscription through your phone company. Caller IQ is a fee based service that requires registration.)

Sorry to say....This was by far the worst product I have ordered here...not only was it a different model which I was happy to see that it was an upgrade to the one I had ordered....but I guess you get what you pay for....I tried for two days to get the handset to charge and yet no matter what I tried even as to spending another $22.00 on a battery it just woulldn't charge.It wasn't even worth my time to pack it up and send it back..So to say it was worth it to me to throw it in the garbage...It was......and $107.00 later on a new phone.. I finally realized it was worth the money to be able to use something that I paid for.

... and my answering machine - out of nowhere - started blinking like crazy, displaying an "E9" error. I was told by Panasonic it was an "internal error" and needs to be sent for repair. This repair could cost 80+ dollars. I was very disappointed as it wasn't used that frequently and I only had it 1 year and 4 months. It worked well besides that and my handsets were still working but now need a new answering machine for the handsets or I have to buy an entirely new system. :(

Has a LOT of features. VERY clear and easy to program. Love the announce caller ID. Has every feature you can use. I have additional phones and once you program one, it will send data (phone book) to other phones automaticaly. Great product

I went through many GHz phones- all sounded like cans. My neighbor bought this phone & I loved it. I have encountered no sound issues (those who do may have other interference such as microwaves, wireless networks, etc.) As with my neighbor- I am happy to have bought this phone.

Worth it's weight in gold........2007-06-13
This Antec Phantom PSU is the best i've found out of the so called "silent" PSU's. With 500w of true power it is more than enough for the average desktop. You will never realize how loud your pc was until you swap your power supply for this unit. Combo this with antec's P180 case and you'll have a pc so quiet you wouldnt even know its on. This is my second purchase of this unit. The first broke after a bad power surge that fried my AVR/battery backup surge protector most everything that was connected to it. The PSU stopped working but the rest of my pc was saved from the surge. I had the previous one for 2 years before I bought another. Before you purchase this go to the gym and work on your bench press and preacher curls because this sucker is heavy.
Silent and efficient.......2007-06-11
This was just what I needed to make my PC whisper quiet. I have after-market cooling for my graphics card and CPU, the only thing left was the PSU. When I installed the Phantom 500, my PC immediately became so quiet you can't even tell it is turned on. Ambient case temp never goes highter than 35C. Great product!
Fanless? Debatable advantage.......2007-05-26
The fact that the power supply can operate fanless (or almost)is not necessary an advantage; usually the power supply can take out some of the hot air from the system... since this is fanless most of the times, this will not happen. As a result, the other fans of the system have to do more work. So, you will not hear the fan from the power supply... but you will hear the others. Never the less, assuming that the efficiency of the power supply is 85% at the maximum power (which is never true since the max efficiency never happens at the max load and this IS the max efficiency - probably when the PS is cold), there are still about 88W to be dissipated... through the chassis - most of them... so the temperature of your whole system will increase. Bottom line is that I bought it on an impulse... but I kind of regret buying it; a dual fan PS would do a much better job for the system. Furthermore, the power supply is usually placed on the top of the system... where the hot air is going so it is placed in the optimal position to cool the system (as the air flows from front to back and bottom to top).
Never the less, as it was, my system with the old PS (one fan) is still quiet, the noise from the fan being exceeded by far by the noise coming from the hard drives and DVD when spinning.
Conclusion: don't buy fanless as you will anyway need fans in your system; buy dual fan PS. The big diameter fan will generate less noise and also help cool your system.
Best power supply out there for SILENCE.......2006-10-02
I bought this to try and silence my PC (Athlon X2 4800+, 4 WD hard drives, XFX 7900GT). It worked superbly - in 12 months, with the default settings, the fan never came on. The powersupply never got particularly hot - warm (like the bottom of a laptop) but never HOT. So the fan didn't come one.
No power problems at all with this supply - good power on both 12v grounds. Not like my last setup.
Still, it's nice to know that the fan is there to kick in if something were to happen. Kind of like an insurance policy. I'd buy this again if I were building another system, and I've been recommending it to all my friends who custom build.
