The MH9915BK from BellSouth is a 900 MHz cordless phone designed for home use, with some useful features and basic easy-to-use operation. Caller ID and call waiting compatible (requires subscription through your phone company), the MH9915BK stores up to 80 numbers in its internal caller ID memory, accessible via the handset LCD. The list is convenient in that it provides a record of all incoming calls, as well as the time and date when that call was received. A 40-number phone directory is also included. All you have to do is program your most frequently used numbers into the phone, then access them via the LCD when you need to make a call.
If you subscribe to a voice mail service, the MH9915BK has a handy voicemail message waiting indicator that lets you know you have new messages. Handset and ringer controls let you adjust volume levels to your liking, while headset compatibility provides the option of hands-free communication. A page/handset locator button on the base makes finding a lost handset a painless task, and a low-battery indicator lets you know when to return the phone to the base for recharging. You can also mount the phone on the wall if you so choose, keeping your countertops clear of unnecessary clutter. The MH9915BK comes backed with a one-year limited warranty.

Great phone.......2004-01-04
I have this phone and am in the process of getting another one like it. We dropped it and messed up the caller ID. The phone still works great. My mom lives next door, about 400 ft away and I take my phone with me to her house and can still answer and make calls with great sound. I have purchased two other different cordless phones with caller ID to replace this one but have taken them both back because the phones have so much static. My sister in law has even asked me to get on my old phone so she can here me better. I can't wait untill i can get a new one just like this one. It is by far the best cordless phone i have found.
Not A BAd Deal For the Price.......2003-09-01
This product is not bad. BAttery lasts long enough for a 2 hour conversation. Sound is not bad and The telephone has good features!
Cheap for a Reason.......2003-02-10
We got this phone... a few months back, and I've regretted it ever since! It looks nice, is comfortable to the ear, and the clip is definately conventient, but this phone is really a piece of junk! The sound is bad. We have the base in our kitchen and when we have the dishwasher on, or the dogs walk through the dog door, you can actually hear it over the phone, like somehow the speaker is on on the base, when it's not. There's a lot of interference and echo, the person you're talking to sounds like he's/she's miles away. It wasn't bad at first, but it's gotten worse over the weeks. The worst thing is the muting. It'll mute out multiple times in a conversation. You know how most phones have a "Mute" button on them? Well, I have yet to find one on this one, but that doesn't keep it from doing it. I'll be in the middle of a converstaion with someone when, all of a sudden, it'll just mute me out. To the person on the other line, it sounds like you hung up. You can hear everything the other person is saying, but they can't hear you. It's a nightmare, especially if it happens after you've been holding for 20 minutes and finally get through to the person you want to speak with, only to have it mute out and the other party, thinking you hung up, hangs up on you! There's no rhyme or reason to it; sometimes you can get through a whole conversation without it happening (though that's rare), and sometimes it'll happen 3 or 4 times in 20 minutes. A mute out usually only lasts 4-7 seconds, but it can go on longer. I thought at first this was a defect in my phone only, but my uncle, who bought the same one at around the same time, has the same exact problems!
Save your money and your frusteration. If you need another phone, do yourself a favor and don't go with this one!

I personally think this phone is great! I love it, i love the mailboxes and the feature of checking any one of them when i'm away from home. The handset is fantastic with numbers at hand. I love that you can check messages from another room. And it's great because a headset is included. This phone is just fantastic.I've had no problem with static, perhaps in an isolated area it might have a problem, but that's to be expected, because duh, it's an isolated area. I've had no problems whatsoever with this phone.
Item has problems........2002-10-16
The caller ID stopped working after a few months, and we have to beat the phone repeatedly when we answer the phone, just to get rid of the static. I cant even figure out how to change the channels on this thing. if someone knows how, let me know, otherwise stay away from this model!

This is the worst cordless phone I've ever used. The caller ID rarely works, I had to hook up my external caller ID. Sometimes when I pick up the phone, all I can hear is LOUD static. The reception is horrible; it doesn't matter what channel you use, They're all bad. I'm surprised at what a piece of trash Bell South has put out! Stay away from this lemon.

Do Not Buy This Phone.......2003-02-12
I bought this phone on sale thinking I was getting a good deal. I should have looked at why there were so many still in the store. I charged it up over a weekend while waiting for the phone company to connect our line and all I get while I am trying to talk to someone is a shrill buzzing noise. No matter where I walk to in our apartment it still is a loud obnoxious buzz. Also when talking to someone syllables and words are cut off even when scanning for another channel. This is a terrible, terrible phone. I am taking it back and will pay the extra money for a better phone. DO NOT BUY--Not worth it!!
Figure out how to use this one........2002-06-10
I'm pretty technical (OK, I'm a geek) but after nearly a year, I'm still tring to figure out how to use this phone. Poor design. No, very, very poor design. Looks good but that's about it.
The battery won't stay charged. I bought a new one and only take the phone off the hook when talking (total talk time less that 1hr/week). Still have to switch phones during conversations.
Don't buy this! It's junk.
