Amazon.com Product Description
Compact, stylish, and extremely portable, the Truly Pic 'n' Roll MP-310 Plus MP3 player is a must for the on-the-go music fan. The device, which supports MP3 and WMA audio formats, stores up to 16-plus hours of music on its 1 GB of built-in flash memory, more than enough for a cross-country flight or a backwoods hiking excursion. Users can also view JPEG photos on the 1.85-inch, 64,000-color LCD display, which offers a crisp 128 x 160 resolution. And should you tire of listening to prerecorded music, you can turn to the built-in FM tuner, which not only plays every station on the FM spectrum, but also records songs and programs for later listening. The tuner even comes with 30 station presets with a custom naming function for easy and quick channel switching.
These days, an MP3 player must do far more than simply play music and view photos, however, which is why the Pic 'n' Roll also sports such features as a digital voice recorder, a text viewer, and several preloaded games. The digital voice recorder captures up to nine-plus hours of material in MP3 format and is ideal for recording voice notes, song ideas, or lectures. The text viewer, meanwhile, displays e-books and other documents in ASCII, Unicode, or TXT format, making it a handy option for people who travel a lot. And thanks to the built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, users will enjoy up to 11 hours of audio playback per charge.
Additional features include a seven-band equalizer with classic, live, pop, rock, bass, and tremble settings; a synchronized lyric display function that works with LRC files; USB or AC charging; a USB 2.0 interface; a line-in recording option; and an ultra-light metal case with a brushed aluminum finish. The Pic 'n' Roll measures 1.96 by 3.11 by 0.51 inches (W x H x D) and carries a full manufacturer's warranty.

A Good Player with Problems.......2007-08-17
I got this a couple of months ago. I am quite happy with it. It's really cute looking and has lots of features for the price. You can listen to music, record voice recordings, listen to the radio, play games, read ebooks, and look at pictures. The sound is good, but when you look for a particular song the artist's name is first so if you have a couple by one artist you won't know which is which. Also there are no shuffle or playlist features. The voice recorder works well and it counts down how much space you have left on your player. If you are in the exact right position the radio works, but if you move it around or cross the room it gets fuzzy. So it will definitly not work in the car. You can record a song on the radio, but it will not be very clear. The games are fun and easy to understand. You can also listen to music while playing them. I don't have an ebook, but I think the screen is too small anyway. I don't have pictures either. For 1 gigabyte the player holds quite a bit of space, I have about 4 hours left on mine. All in all it's a satasfactory mp3 player. There are some problems, but for the price, excellent!
Rock solid, looks sharp, best looking display I've seem.......2005-12-03
I've had and reviewed several digital players in the past. Most MP3 players come across as following the same cutting edge trend. The first thing I noticed with the Truly MP310 is its more sophisticated look. It's solid and seemingly well built.
Now grant it, this is more than just an MP3 player, perhaps a bit too versatile for the casual music listener. It supports music, digital books, FM radio, voice/line-in/FM recording, games and photos. You can set your wallpaper or theme, similar to windows. The menus are as easily navigable as can be expected for a multipurpose gadget. Keep in mind that this kind of versatility comes with a learning curve. Expect to use the reference manual once in a while. It comes with a quick start guide which is of limited help. The full manual is on a disk.
I like the style of the earbud headphones. They're comfortable, built solid and look sharp, but the sound is a bit bassy and the cord could be longer. With that said, Earphones are cheap. Go out and get whatever headphones suit you.
The LCD display is about the best I've seen in the MP3 mode. It's big, bright, colorful, and easy to view in bright sunlight. It very clearly gives all the expected information including artist and song name, track number/total tracks, volume level, play mode, equalizer mode.
The player does come with some well built accessories; particularly the carrying case and arm band. They're made with a heavy black nylon. This is to say the player can be worn on the belt or arm. All the buttons and display are accessible while in the case.
Speaking of the buttons, they're responsive, well laid out but a bit small. The volume, forward, back and menu buttons are on the front and the equalizer and A/B buttons are on the side. I like a player that you can just reach down and operate without looking. You'll need to look at this player to hit the correct buttons. As mentioned, there's a dedicated button to access the equalizer. This is a bit uncommon but a convenient feature. I find myself using it more than I thought I would. Usually the equalizer is buried in the menu. There are standard genres settings for pop, rock, classical, custom and so on. The player locked up on me once while downloading but playback seems to work well so far.
The FM reception is much better than expected. Frankly, most FM receivers in digital players don't work well. You can select the quality of stations you want (how strong a station you want the thing to pull in), low, medium or high and then scan and this puts the stations into memory. I pulled in the two strongest stations in high and 19 in low. Stations come in decent in low with a minimum of fading in and out when moving about. I'm impressed.
For the pictures, there's software on the disk for cropping and converting to a useable format. Pictures need to be converted to an LGO format in order to work well. After a little playing around, the software is simple, easy to use and relatively straight forward. The pictures appear a bit grainy but viewable. Pictures with good contrast work best. The ability to crop helps too. The player comes with some pictures already loaded, more for demo purposes than anything else.
You can listen to music while reading an ebook. There're options for a slideshow, the ability to name preset radio stations, an adjustable timer for power off, display options and so on. All and all, this is, but not just an MP3 player that you would load music and go. If that's what you're looking for, there's plenty out there. This is a digital media player (pictures and sound) that should be learned to be fully appreciated.

Sangean RCR-2 Digital Clock Radio.......2007-10-19
Nice radio. Digital tuner with ten presets, atomic clock for accuracy, relatively compact, and functions well. Prices vary all over the internet, so shop wisely.
Excellent weak-area reception.......2007-08-28
We live in a very weak reception area, poor for public FM stations, worse for AM stations. The RCR-2 does an excellent job of bringing in a decent signal for both FM and AM stations. Sound quality is, relatively, poor, but as a bedside radio, often used with a mono earphone, it's excellent. Preset stations are easy to set, and all controls are easy to use by feel.
Excellent Alarm Clock Radio.......2007-07-15
I read many good reviews about this radio so I decided to check it out at my local electronics store. The first thing that I noticed was the good quality. The unit is very well-built and a little heavy. I was a little overwhelmed with all of the controls. By first glance, the buttons are not labeled well and operations such as setting the alarm are not very intuitive. Be sure to go through the manual first. When I brought it home, I started reading about how to use the atomic feature to set the time. Even though the manual stated that it would take up to 48 hours for this feature to set the time, this happened in about 45 minutes. The only gripe about this feature is that there is no way to tell if the radio is receiving a weak or strong signal. So, this was a guessing game, and I was a little impatient expecting the time to set instantly. If the time doesn't set, you have to set it yourself. No big deal.
The sound is above average for a clock radio. The reception is excellent however. This is especially true with AM. At night, I can receive all of the original clear channel stations hundreds of miles away with little fade. I am in Atlanta, GA and I can receive the CBC Radio One reliably every night. It seems that on most radios, AM is an afterthought and the tuners are very poor. This radio far exceeded my expectations as I did not know that it was a DX radio.
Since I wake up to the radio, I haven't tried the buzzer yet so I can't really comment on that.
The feature that I like most is the ability to turn of the backlight display. My old Sony Liv Dream Machine had 3 brightness settings of which the darkest setting was still to bright for me. This one turns off completely which is perfect for me. If I ever need to know the time in the middle if the night I can easily turn the display back on. The button is in the lower right corner so it is easy to find.
I will say that this radio is definitely worth the price for me and the features are very useful.
Sangean Atomic Clock Radio.......2007-07-15
The radio is basically a good item in that the size, the sound, digital display and alarm settings can be given an excellent rating. The only fault that I find with the radio is that it lacks a battery backup facility. This short-fall of the radio should have been explicitly stated in the description of the item. Had this been the case, I would not have purchsed the radio since electrical failures are quite prevalent in my area and exceed the one hour backup system of the unit's settings.
Best Alarm Clock I've Owned.......2007-07-10
I loved this radio and have owned it for six months. Rather than repeat some of the other great features, I'll include some info that many may not be aware of. I live in an area with many power failures. After a power failure, (even after many hours) the clock immediately starts requesting the time from the Atomic Time Standard in Colorado. None of the previously set alarms or stations programmed get lost! I did have one occasion when I had to use the reset button on the bottom of the radio - maybe because of a voltage spike during a power outage.
Another neat feature not mentioned in the manual is: if you want the clock to set itself to the Atomic Standard, hold down the "Time" button until the antenna icon starts flashing. After a few minutes, the time will be set perfectly.
One thing that wasn't too clear in the manual: if you live in a area using DST (Daylight Savings Time) and set the DST symbol (*), if this is done in the Winter when DST isn't in effect, the symbol will disappear. Don't worry, it's still saved in memory and when Daylight Savings Time starts, the symbol will magically appear on the display along with the correct time. Oh, and by the way, this radio is smart enough to get the start and end of DST correct no matter how many times the nit-wits in Washington change the rules.
So, what's not to like. The display needs major improvement. If the lamp is left on, you can read the display head-on but forget about sleeping. This radio should have a display lamp with a variable brightness.
And, I still love this radio.
