Users can even set up datacasts (podcasts) by using the SMS software that comes on the included installation disk.
The Samsung P2 is an 8 GB Flash-based portable media player with a three-inch widescreen LCD and a slim-style form factor. Capable of video, music, photo, and FM radio playback, the P2 lets you enjoy your favorite media files wherever you go. The player supports video playback in MPEG4, SVI, and WMV9 file formats and audio playback in MP3, WMA, and subscription WMA file formats. JPEG files can be viewed as pictures or slideshows.
Packed with such additional features as an alarm clock, world clock, and calendar functionality, the P2 is an extremely multifunctional media player. The P2 also comes with a file viewer, which you can use to view and delete any file on the device without the PC. The P2 supports up to 30 hours of music or five hours of video playback with every full charge of its internal Li-Poly rechargeable battery. The P2's battery charges whenever the device is connected to an active USB link. Compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems, the P2 measures 3.94 x 2.05 x 0.39 inches and weighs just 2.88 ounces.

Great player.......2007-12-23
I have loved this product. It is easy to use with Windows XP, and Media Player will sync up with it no problem. Great video and music quality. Small and portable, I work out with it pretty much everyday and it doesn't get in the way at all (Get the armband for it). I would reccomend this player to anyone interested in an alternative to the iPod series.
Bluetooth Limitations.......2007-12-23
i really wanted to give this product five stars but it has some real bluetooth limitations. i purchased this product primarily so i could be unwired in the gym. i also purchased this product because of its high quality sound ratings. it turns out in the bluetooth mode all the sound features are turned off and the equalizer and sound enhancement does not function. Also the FM radio does not work over Bluetooth, so if you want any sound enhancement or if you want to listen to the radio you still have to have those wired earphones/headphones around. i am using this unit with a Sony DRBT21G/B headset and all the remote control features work quite nicely. Sound is good but not as good as it could be if the equalizer was available. Bluetooth range is very good with line of sight operation out to the spec 10 meters with no problem. Except for these limitations the unit is a beautiful design and even with big fingers the touch display works well (although a bit slow on the equalizer screen when you do have wired headphones plugged in). The display is clear and bright and the menus are easy to navigate. A little nit is you have to carry another cable around as Samsung did not use a standard USB plug on the unit (probably because it is too thin). Also would have been nice to have include a mico SD slot so you could add memory.
Excellent mp3 player. Great alternative to the iTOUCH.......2007-12-18
Samsung made a player for people who don't want to feed the evil "Apple" machine, or people who'd actually like a radio on their player. That was a reason why I picked this one over the iTOUCH. There were other reasons too... My last player was a iPOD 30 gb video, which had the mini hard drive in it. the 8 gb P2 uses flash memory, so it works so much better if you are active. (no moving parts)
Also unlike the iPOD family of products, you aren't forced to use only use the apple music and audio files. I would put videos on it and not all of them would convert right... and I had to convert all my mp3s to mp4.. but not so with the P2... and pretty much every video works on it too.
The one feature that became the catcher for me was the bluetooth capability. At least at this point in time, I don't believe there are any iPODs or Zunes that support Bluetooth. I am getting a bluetooth headset over the holidays, so I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
The sound quality is good. It's actually better sound for music than video... the headphones that come with the player are okay... not great.
unlike the iTOUCH, there are only a 4 and 8 GB models where the iTouch is 8 and 16 gb.. but it's also $50 more expensive (between the 8gb P2 and the 8gb iTouch.
There are some disadvantages, but they aren't major:
1) you are limited to 8gb, but I never used more than 8 gb on my iPod, why have more than you will use?
2)fingerprints get on it really easy... so easy a CSI tech could tell who you are just from the print on the P2 :P however I'm sure the iTouch is the same way, you just need to wipe the prints off.
3) There aren't a bunch of accessories for the P2, and probably won't be alot of them, unlike the iPod or Zune. But I think the other reasons why I wanted the P2 make up for it.
I'm very satisfied. I can't give 5 star because it's not perfect, but it's the best for what I need it for.
Sleek, Attractive Ipod touch killer!.......2007-12-09
Samsung makes great products, and the P2 is evidence of one of them.
Some people are claiming that the P2 is over-priced (yet it's $50 less than the ipod touch). Think of it this way, you're paying a little extra for the beautiful touch screen and superior sound quality. Watching a video on the P2 is definitely enjoyable with its vivid color with the high resolution screen.
What other player has 3 menu styles?
And guess what, Samsung is going to roll out a series of updates free to download for every P2 owner that are going to make the player EVEN better.
Want to listen to your player without worrying that you're going to get a call? No problem. New updates will connect your cell phone via bluetooth, allowing you to make and answer calls from your player. Wow.
The updates will have more menu styles, touch games (yay!), and FM and voice recording. Later on Samsung will make even more updates with unfathomable features.
The P2 currently has more features than the Ipod touch.
It feels so light in my hand, I'm not even kidding. Fits right into your pocket.
As for accessories, the P2 is new but soon there will be many accessories including an FM transmitter, wi-fi, and speaker all-in-one plug in.
Oh yea, the headphones that come with it don't fall out of your ears!
Ok, so enough praising. The bad:
The touch screen is accurate for the most part, but sometimes it does mess up (I'm not gonna lie).
The screen protector that came with it gave lots of bubbles when I tried to apply it, so I took it off. I'd suggest buying a case for it instead of using the screen protector.
There's no home charger! You have to charge it through your computer...
Unfortunately, Itunes is better than the software that comes with the P2.
Not many cons, this is a great player and worth the extra cash.
It would be a great Christmas present, plus it's not like the ipod where everyone has one!

Exceptional product. Bluetooth works efficiently. Touchscreen although not in the ipod touch's class, works well enough. Transfer of movie video is rather slow. Picture and sound are beautiful.

Not so Impressed.......2007-03-28
I was excited about receiving this item because I thought it looked really nice on the website. I was disappointed when I got it though because it is very small, light, and appears cheap. I would not recommend this product.
basketball clock.......2007-01-13
The clock is nice in the fact that it displys the time on the ceiling for easy viewing at night, but the alarm is hard to figure out and turning it off the way the instruction manual indicates doesn't always work.

My 10 year old daughter who is a big basketball fan saw an ad for this clock and wanted to borrow the money to buy it. Well we lost the ad and she was very disappointed. I found it here on Amazon and she was so thrilled when she got it for Christmas. She can now lay in bed and look at the ceiling to check the time.
