Sound quality surpasses or equals any iPods I have listened to. Very decent player. Lacks the 'extras' that the iPod has though, but I tend to just listen to music when jog/run/cook etc and don't care the extras.
Great to play in cars too.
On songs recorded at >128Kbps, the speakers in 3D mode are just simply awesome. Lower bit rates tend to sound flat on the speakers.
The accompanying headphones were of average quality, and tended to respond too much to treble in comparison to bass. I replaced these with the JBuds Noise-canceling head phones from Amazon ( about $20)...and the combination is simply awesome.
Overall a good audio product, but does not have the frills you tend to expect from today's audio players.

This is an excellent, easy to use mp3 player. It is the size of a cell phone and may be too big for people who want to use it in a gym, but, otherwise, it is spectacular. The sound is great. It is just right for travel and normal listening situations. If the user wants to feel like he is at a rock concert, this is not the player. For everyone else, this should be a great device. Navigation is easy, and it syncs with Rhapsody very well.

This is the perfect companion if you are a music lover and willing to share your music to the world. The only problem I had with this device was that the included headphones did not fit my ears too well, and may not produce a universal fit for everyone else.
This is a device that is designed to be played at high volumes in coffee houses, restaurants, entrance to clubs, and residential bedrooms.

When I first had this MP3 player in my hads I felt like when I was a little kid and I got a Transformer toy for Christmas I couldn't belive how cool it was. The Samsung YP-K5 has one of the most beautiful designs of MP3 players, it's very easy to use (unlike my old Ipod which took me ages to find the shuffle mode) and it has a science fiction gadget feel to it that other MP3 players lack. Just when you thought it couldn't be any better than this you slide it and Voila! you can take it anywhere and let everyone listen to what you are listening without the need of external speakers, the sound is pretty decent for it's size. ALso the player is super resistant (just watch youtube and see a video of a car rolling over it without harming it). All in all a player that deserves to be in the podium of MP3 players
defect in construction.......2007-10-04
We liked this mp3 player for its size and the option of using the speaker without the headphones. Unfortunately though, there was a problem with the construction. There was a loose screw holding the top mp3 section and the bottom speaker section together that could not be tightened. Due to this problem the product was wobbly and was falling apart. We ended up returning it for a refund.

For those who have a burgeoning interest in shortwave radio or who don't like to be without news and music when traveling, the Sangean SG-622 10-band portable receiver makes an ideal travel companion. Small enough to slip into a jacket pocket but powerful enough so you can stay in touch with the world, you'll barely need to glance at the operating instructions before you'll be up and running with this nifty little device.
Solid and compact, the SG-622 includes just the essentials: a retractable antenna, volume and tuning knobs, and a wide face displaying the bands and frequencies. Tuning is accomplished by clicking a switch to the appropriate band, then dialing up or down, refining the tuning by hand as you go. The all-inclusive frequency display results in imprecise indications, so it is not possible to determine exactly which frequency you are tuning in. But our reception in all bands on any strong signal was excellent.
Overall, we found this a sensitive radio with great portability that would make great introductory piece for anyone interested in shortwave radio listening. The Sangean SG-622 is powered by 3 AA batteries, but consider adding an AC adapter to reduce your battery expense.
It comes with a one-year warranty on parts and labor.

Briefly, I have bought three of these in a row following losses. It's a great little radio. I am not a shortwave nut, but it is fun to tune around occasionally. It has good sound and doesn't consume batteries too badly. One caution, the band selecting strip on the top of the radio can pop off if you are not careful. It's not big deal to push it back on, but don't lose it or you will have trouble selecting radio frequencies.
I like to take it to baseball games for announcer commentary.

I can't say enough about how much I love this radio. Let me put it this way, I dropped it into our tub, completely submerged, and the sucker still worked. That was over a year ago. A great radio.

I own on of these and love it so much I got my brother one for Christmas. Though small, this radio has great reception of regular and shortwave channels, without any sort of cumbersome antenna wire to deal with. The batteries last a long, long time, even when I fell asleep and left it on all night a couple times. Just don't break the antenna off right away, which I always seem to do! Anyone would have fun with this. (Oh, and it's VERY sturdy. I actually did a human cannonball thing, diving face first onto mine, when holding onto the dog's leash as it saw a cat, and though I got a black eye, the radio was unscathed and still working great.)

Good if you live in a rural location.......2007-10-12
This radio is just OK. The tuning is a little tight, and the volume is a bit too sensitive. The sensitivity is OK for an analog dial. My biggest quam with this radio is that it seems to pickup certain channels the entire length of a bandwidth. I can go up and down say, shortwave band 2, and still hear a particular station competing with other signals. I took the radio to the highest hill in town away from interference and at night, and that's where the radio shined. However in my busy little suburb this radio can't compete with all the interference.
