Happy .......2007-12-24
I am happy with my Creative MuVo and I have had several. I listen to books. I tryed a iPod and hated it. For me simple is better.
Good for audio downloads.......2007-12-18
My family and I have used various Muvo models for audio downloads -- from Audible and from public libraries. Unlike some brands which are set up to play short, song files, the Muvo is pretty good about "fast forwarding and rewinding" through long files. I particularly like the fact that the built in USB prong means no additional cable is needed to hook up to a computer.
Nice MP3.......2007-12-13
I love it. It's the second one I've had...lost the first one and then found it after I bought this one. I'm pretty much a novice, but I think the sound is terrific, altho' the earphones aren't very comfortable. They're too big for my ears; when I hold them close the sound is really great. I bought some Sony ear"pods", real small, but the sound was garbage with them so I took them back. All in all, for the price, it's a really good buy and I'm happy with both of my MP3's!
love it!.......2007-12-04
i love it!! it is exactly what i was looking for. it isn't anything other then what it says it is. it is really strictly for listening to songs, like an ipod suffle. there is no menu, no fancy stuff. i love it for working out and riding on the bus. i think i will stick to my other creative for all the fancy stuff.
Exceeded my expectations........2007-12-02
This low-cost MP3 player has many features I liked, and one I did not. The player is unusual in that it consists of two parts, the "player part" and the "battery part". The two parts must be connected for normal mobile use. The separated player part plugs directly into a USB jack for drag-and-drop MP3 loading and doubles as a normal jump drive. The two flat buttons on the edge are volume up and down, the rounded fancy button does everything else except on/off and works just fine. There are several "default folders" which you can load and then play just the tunes in one folder, and the manual suggests a 3-level folder hierarchy is possible, I have not checked that. [ The user manual can be downloaded on line and is "reasonable". Menu item "skip folder" means "select folder".] The display has good resolution and scrolls too-long tune names horizontally. It has a backlight that stays on after any button press for an amount of time you determine as a setting (there are very many settings). The AAA battery life is claimed at 18 hours and may be long due to the fact that this player seems to use a "slow" FLASH chip that does not support the fast USB 2.0 (480 Mbps) download rate. It loads at the USB 1.0 rate (12 Mbps, aka the USB 2.0 slow rate) which is in effect about 1 MB/sec. So a complete reload of 1 GB might take 15 minutes. If you are a very frequent full reloader, this player may not be for you. I had a special interest in this product because its "player part" can be powered by 1.5 volts applied to the power pins of its USB connector (which normally uses 5 volts). See my Amazon review of the $3 "JWIN JAC32 Dual Voltage Egg Power Universal AC Adapter" for hints on making a 1.5 volt regulated AC adapter (battery replacement) for this MP3 player. Inquire rimrock at xmission com for more info. This Muvo was $33 with free shipping, today (12/2/07) it is $35 without, tomorrow who knows. It also includes a voice recorder function which I have never tried.

Track the latest storm, keep up to date on the pressing emergency alerts and even listen to your favorite TV shows when not near a television thanks to the Eton FR300 American Red Cross Crank Radio. You can also listen to music and talk thanks to the high-quality AM and FM radio. The crank radio can be powered from 4 different sources and also serves as a cell phone charger.
Amazon.com Product Description
When an emergency strikes, will you have the vital information you need? The Etón FR300 answers that question with a resounding yes. This sturdy AM/FM radio is built to handle the elements, as well as a power outage, thanks to a hand crank that can be used to recharge the built-in battery. Thanks to the FR300's reception of NOAA weather radio, emergency information is always close at hand when you need it, making this radio a must-have for anyone who wants to be as ready as possible for unforeseen events.
Design and Controls
Weighing in at just under a pound and a half, and measuring just six and a half inches across, the FR300 is light and compact enough to take anywhere. Simple, easy-to-grasp rotating knobs on the front of the device control tuning, volume, and band selection. The tuning knob also features a fine tuning control knob superimposed on the main tuning knob for extreme tuning accuracy. An analog tuning selector is clearly marked with key frequencies, making it easy to quickly tune the stations that matter most. Two switches on the front of the device control the flashlight and power supply selection.
Tuning and Bands
As mentioned, the FR300 tunes all seven NOAA weather channels, plus the all important alert channel. In addition to AM/FM tuning, you can tune into the audio from VHF television stations -- TV1 and TV2, channels two through 13.
Connections and Power
Because the FR300 is built for those times when normal power options are not available, it provides a number of options for providing the juice it needs. An AC adapter (not included) charges the built-in Ni-MH battery pack, but again, If the power is out it can be recharged using the attached hand crank. Power can also be supplied by three "AA" batteries, and if there is no battery at all in the device -- including the rechargeable battery -- the radio will operate with continuous operation of the hand crank.
Extras
The FR300's LED light system offers three emergency lights, plus a flashing beacon mode. There's also a siren for alerting emergency responders to your location, as well as a cell phone charger for keeping your other vital communications tool topped off with power. The radio includes cell phone adapter tips for charging select models of Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Sony-Ericsson, and LG phones. Note that not all manufacturers or makes are supported.
What's in the Box
FR300 radio, 5 cell phone charging adapters, carrying case, and owner's manual.

An easy for for an info junkie when the power is out.......2007-12-22
In 2006 Seattle, and western Washington, suffered through a major windstorm. The windstorm knocked down trees and power lines resulting in mass power outages. Remote areas in western Washington were without power for weeks.
We used the Eton radio during the windstorm and the recovery period to stay in touch with the latest news. The ability to tune into the news and hear was an amazing for how isolated and disconnected we felt with every day amenities like the Internet and satellite TV.
The radio worked as advertised. We could listen to the local AM station for about 30 minutes after cranking the handle for 1 minute.
A good emergency radio is an essential piece of gear for all 72 hour kits.
works great.......2007-12-18
Cranking for 90 seconds gives you loads of power and the radio is compact so it packs well too.
the only thing about this product that i'd change is the carry case, which is a little clumsy in design.
Bought 3 for Christmas gifts last year.......2007-11-26
We live in Florida and I bought these for my family members in case we were out of power. We know the value of getting information immediately and these radio's give us that. Fortunately, we haven't had to use the emergency features on them this year, but that's a good thing.
Just right for the purpose.......2007-11-15
Not sure I understand other complaints about quality of reception. Maybe its a location thing? I get better FM, AM on this small radio than on any other I own. Also good reception of TV channels and adequate reception of local weather channel. Love it! I may take it out of my disaster box and use it regularly. Besides, it's so darn cute.
Seems OK, but...........2007-11-04
Seems to work well as described in the instructions, but after a month I am still waiting for the free connection for charging my cell phone. Will have to recontact them which is annoying.
