Bulky, good sound, fragile.......2007-09-30
First, the sound on these is very good from many points
of view, but not phenomenal or outstanding.
Secondly, the audio plug I received was of the large turn-table
type, needing an adaptor to fit into a mini-jack used by mp3
players, the walkman, ipod, etc. They are also bulky, heavy ...and
the audio wire extended 2 meters perhaps.
Third, the plastic that is used is fragile. In the grey sections
at the top of the headset, the entire plastic bracket will crack
right off, just because (for example) they were dropped on a carpet
too many times, or over-stretched when placed over the head
Fourth, after 1.5 or 2 hours, the ears get hot, and definitely need a breather, as there's lack of air.
Fifth, the vinyl covering of the cans themselves, in black, are
enormously fragile, and over time (1 or 2 years) seem to dry up,
flake and fall off. Perhaps they need to be moistened but ..since it's
plastic, I don't see how a material not made of leather could benefit
from a lubricant.
Sixth, the sound leekage is too much ...in fast, if listening to
a DJ mix, the other rooms in your apartment or home, will be hearing
your mix from 30 meters away.
I would suggest a different headset ....at the time I though $100
was a lot of money to spent on headsets ...but ... sometimes money
is not the most important factor.

Stanton is absolutely the best headphone at this price. Better than Sennheiser, Sony, etc. With the Stanton, you can crank up the bass and still hear high notes like a triangle. Nothing else compares for under $100.

An answer to my solution!.......2005-07-05
I have a 5 year old computer which included 2 USB ports in the back and I am limited to and wanted 2.0 instead of the obsolete 1.0 version. I almost bought a USB 2.0 "hub", but then I thought I'm missing the new "Firewire" ports and wanted to see if this "combo" exist, not only does it exist from a number of available different manufacturers, but they also wanted a boat load of money for it. So I decided to do more searching and came across and stumbled upon this unit. This was the solution that I was looking for and the price (which cost way less than gasoline in my car) you can't go wrong. It's a solid tight fit into the PCI slot and there are one of each ports available internally for future expansion so I will buy a 3.5" front bay USB/1394 combo (cost only a few bucks) and expand some ports into the front for digital camera, etc. and use the back for permanent items like the printer and other stationary peripherals.

The last time I tried installing a combo card it ended up being a disaster. I purchased a no-name card from another vendor and it caused a catastrophic system failure... So I was really leary about installing this one. I need not have worried! This one practically installed itself. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a truly plug and play combo card.

I bought the Visioneer 3100B scanner over two years ago and am very happy with it. The price is low and the scanner is easy to set up and install. In fact, I liked the 3100B so much I purchased one for my cousin as a wedding gift, and encouraged my aunt to get one herself, which she did. As far as I know, they all like it. There are other scanners with more sophisticated features, but the 3100B has everything the ordinary computer user needs. I use mine to scan important documents and fax them in, as well as scan family photos and send them thru email.

I've found our Visoneer 3100 flatbed scanner to be easy to use and a very welcome edition to our home office. If you are in the market for a basic scanner to keep friends and family updated with photos of any kind, this is a truly wonderful product! It is a snap to use, and it barely takes up much memory space on the hard drive! It is quite reasonably priced, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a scanner to do basic functions! I can even make homemade holiday cards with it! It is great!
