Customer Reviews:
Best gaming mouse i've ever used.......2007-12-23
This mouse is absolutely the best gaming mouse that I've ever used. My friend has one of the highest-end Logitech mice, but the Razer beats it hands down. Great bang for your buck.
Not exactly the most ergonomic mouse on the planet, but it all depends on the way that you hold it.
Don't feel like you have to spend a lot more for the 2000 dpi sensor because this little guy only has a 1600 dpi. This optical sensor gets the job done and then some!
Best mouse in the world.......2007-01-16
I have use many many mice for gaming & high-sensitivity applications such as photo-editing, etc. I prefer this mouse over any other mouse, including the logitech MX series and the Razer Copperhead, even though the Copperhead is newer.
For accuracy-critical applications like gaming and photoshop, I like to use my right hand, but for everything else I like to use my left hand b/c I over-use the computer way too much and my hand gets sore. This mouse is symmetrical so I can switch easily---you cant do that on the logitech mouse that conforms to your right-hand only.
Plus this mouse has very large buttons and its quite easy to become comfortable with it.
Also, this is very accurate. 1600 dpi is the best dpi possible. the average dpi on a mouse that you buy at a store is 800 dpi so this is 2x as accurate. On the other hand 2000 dpi uses too much CPU power and can slow you down in a game more significantly than you might think.
Another thing i like is the cord is very thin and flexible.
THIS MOUSE IS VERY SENSITIVE. That can be a small problem if your not used to it. This is what to do: Go into Control Panel and go to "Mouse" properties in classic view. Go to "Pointer Options" tab and move the "Motion" slider down to 4. Remove the tick by "Enhance pointer precision". Furthermore, inside a game, make sure you turn off any options for "smooth mouse movements", etc, and you may have to reduce the in game mouse sensitivity settings. But once you do that you will have a VERY accurate mouse that is not over-sensitive.
Nice overall.......2006-12-19
Very good build quality, and works very nicely when paired with a Razer mat. I am a casual gamer, and although I can't say whether this has improved my gaming, I can tell you that the mouse itself has been very solid in performance. I like to adjust the sensitivity of the mouse on-the-fly which is very helpful in certain games.
I've experienced one downside - this mouse draws a bit more current than others, so when I bootup my machine, sometimes, there is not enough juice to power this mouse on, and I have to unplug and plug back in. This is probably more a problem with my machine, but still, it is what it is. The default high sensitivity setting also takes a little time to get comfortable with, but you can turn it down of course.
Not worth the cash.......2006-12-14
On paper, this mouse is a pretty good performer, in "real life" however, it leaves much to be desired. First, the driver is virtually impossible to install. Follow the directions in the box or go to the Razer website and use those, and the result will still be the same: reduced functionality. The program to modify the buttons will appear on the your computer, however it doesn't work correctly. On the fly resolution adjustment sounds nice, but doesn't work. I'm not retarded and I do my own PC maintenance ( I build my own) so don't sell me out as an idiot. The driver simply doesn't function as it is supposed to - no matter the version. Second, the additional buttons are nice, if you can use them. They just aren't in a good location for practical usage. I found myself only able to use the most forward of the two buttons on the left side. To operate the back button I had to change the posture of my hand, thus rendering the button useless for gaming purposes. I pretty much have medium sized hands, signalling that those with smaller hands may not be able to use the button at all. On to the mousewheel. What is the deal with that thing? It is pretty grippy and it does have tactile, not audible, "clicks." However, the clicks often times don't seem to trigger the switch. I routinely died as a result of "choosing" a lame weapon over something better suited to my attack because of the mousewheel. If you rock the wheel back and forth you can get the switch to trigger without traversing the actual "click". This was and still is a severe problem and will surely drive a serious gamer to destroy the mouse out of anger. Now to the good stuff. The mouse glides superbly of a multitude of surfaces. I primarily used a gaming-sized mouse pad but had to use the sheet metal pull-out keyboard tray on occasion and had no problems. The two primary mouse buttons are well placed as in they are extended further back than a conventional mouse for comfort and ease of use. The optical sensor seems to be of the highest quality and even the most minute movements of the mouse will produce activity on your screen. Overall, it's just not worth the money with the inherent problems in the mouses current state. There's no other way to put it.
GREAT MOUSE WITH FEW PROBLEMS.......2006-11-25
I bought this mouse to use with my dell xps 700.
It is very conferrable and precise. It work very well and the software they give you is very easy to install and easy to manage. The buttons on the size could be programmed to what you like it to do. **I am running windows** The only problem is that it sometimes doesn't power up and you have to pull the USB cable out and plug it back in. the other thing is that the software is not Microsoft certified means Microsoft didn't approve it.
in all other cases the product is great
