Wacom Rules.......2007-12-27
This thing is AMAZING! I have never used a tablet before, but I'm hooked at what I have been able to achieve in photoshop. The only hitches I have had were some lingering issues between the driver and Photoshop CS3, which seems to be fixable by reinstalling the wacom drivers after CS3 is installed. The other is not a problem yet, but I continue to eye the point where my cord connects to the tablet - it just looks like without a heavier reinforced lead here, this is going to be the place where the cord gets a short. All in all, it's a great value, glad I chose this model.
First time tablet experience.......2007-12-24
Although I have little experience with other tablet products on the market, I find this product to work great. I have no trouble with memory, application conflicts or the like. It makes working with Illustrator and Photoshop exponentially easier and I look forward to lots of use.
Must Have for Graphic Designers.......2007-12-20
Just as Photoshop is must-have for designers, so is this Wacom tablet. I used the Graphire3 4x5 tablet for a few years and just upgraded to the Intuos 6x8. What a difference! It looks and feels much smoother and I wish I'd gotten one sooner. The larger size makes a big difference, too.
I don't use the shortcut buttons very much because I'm so used to the keyboard for that, but I do like it that you can program them to do other things (open programs, for instance). Masking, painting and retouching photos is a nightmare with the mouse; a pen tablet is the only way to go!
A small warning: learning to use any tablet is a little disorienting at first. I don't use it for everything on my computer, just for working in Photoshop. It's invaluable!

I digitize embroidery designs on the computer. I purchased the Graphire tablet a few years ago and never really liked it. I used the mouse more than the pen because I need to zoom in on my work quite often - the wheel mouse worked for that but not the pen. A friend recommended the Intuos - it has the scroll/zoom strip at the top and programmable buttons. I have a different function programmed in for each button. You can even customize it differently for different programs. It works wonderful with my software. The feel of the pen is much nicer than the Graphire too. The size is just right for use with my laptop - not too big and not too small.

Fabulous tool for people who spend time searching the web and have injured their wrists or arms using a mouse. Also, execellent for delivering speeches to audiences where writing on MS PowerPoint slides will enhance the presentation.

An amazing companion to Photoshop CS3.......2007-12-08
I never used a tablet before, and few reviews I had read said that it was hard to work with the pen looking at the screen. It just took a couple of days using it with Photoshop, Flash, Fireworks and video games to get used to using it instead of the mouse. I am still trying to improve my ability with the pen, but I am finding more and more, I can speed up my designs and get a little more accuracy and I am sure the more I use it the better I will get with it. I would definitely recommend the Wacom Intous 3 SE 6 x 8 for graphic design, and web design. I have a wide screen 20" monitor and it adapted to it quickly. The pressure sensitivity is a real helpful feature, by using increased pressure to make lines wider, or less pressure to make thin lines. Can't do that with a mouse. And being able to flip pen to erase is a feature I have used a lot for photo & graphic editing, it is so quick and easy. If the Special Edition is still available when you go to buy, it can add addition savings in the long run.

Did the trick in cooling my media cabinet.......2007-12-16
My media cabinet containing a PC and a receiver was getting obviously too hot. I cut a 120mm hole for the fan in the top of cabinet behind the TV, put 5 1" holes in the floor of the cabinet, and lay this fan on top of the 120mm hole, and I've achieved cooling happiness. It runs all the time, and can't be heard unless you get close and listen carefully. The resistor that came with the fan didn't look like it could really handle the load, so instead of using that I bought a 3-12v adjustable power supply from Radio Shack ($19), and use the 9V setting.
