Installation was a breeze, a couple snaps and it was in. Take note that a second power supply is needed to power the hard drive.
The performance was okay. Formatting took hours. It's because of the sub-par connection through the exbansion base connection to the SATA Drive. While I think a direct USB or firewire connection is defintely faster, it's not as pretty and to be honest, we buy this to make it look clean.
I rated it 3 of 5 because it does it's purpose buy lacks on performance because of design.

Memory never hurts.......2005-08-03
I installed this in a 700MHz AMD Duron-based Compaq Presario, which only had 64MB. The additional memory cleared up the system slowups caused by Norton, and enabled me to play more games on our network, such as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six.

Almost perfect!.......2007-12-22
So this is almost the perfect MFD. My only beef with it is no network port. And if you use a USB network enabler, you lose the scan function. Again, not a huge issue, but since there's clearly a place on the board back there for a network jack, why not include it? We certainly paid enough for this printer for it to have one!
And no, it doesn't have fax capability, but then again, faxing is SO 90's. Scanning to a PDF is legally admissible and such better quality.

This is my 4th HP printers in 12 years. I trust HP always making high quality printers.
I got this Color LaserJet CM1015 yesterday. The install CD did not work, as it did not support Windows Vista. I called HP Customer Service last night, this afternoon, and tonight. I have been making many phone calls to the Customer Service department, but they kept transferring my phone call to other departments which did not answer the phone. I requested to talk to their manager, and the phone was transferred to nowhere.
I have this printer for more than 24 hours. I could not make it work besides photocopying (this is a multi-function printer). I am VERY VERY disappointed how HP handling their customer requests.
Printer does not work.......2007-10-22
I was so excited when the printer arrived. I opened the box and plugged the printer up and nothing happened. I mean nothing, it won't come on at all. I've had to give it to HP so that they can figure out what's wrong with it. I need the printer so badly right now that this is the absolute worst thing. The distributor's return policy is so extensive and long that it's easier for me to have things done through HP themselves, I should've just bought it from them in the first place.

I bought this printer from Staples. Staples matches any competitor, and discounts 10% on top of the competitors price. In this case, OfficeMax had this printer for $300 (which is cheaper than anywhere else I've seen, online or otherwise). At Staples, this same printer was $499.99. So I showed them the OfficeMax price, and they gave me the printer for $270.
I have read some reviews of this printer saying that it isn't that fast. However, I have found it to be pretty quick. If you want to print 100's of pages at a time, or are spooling multiple jobs at a time in your office, this probably isn't the printer for you. But otherwise, it works really well. I have been using with a Linksys wireless print server, and it works great. Only downside is no scanner support over the print server....
