It's very useful! Who the heck knew that 512 MB could hold so much space? And it's so tiny, you will lose it at least once if you aren't careful. But the positives DEFINITELY outweigh the negatives! I thank goodness and the beautiful and star-lit sky above for it really. I put my AIM/YIM conversations on it, as well as other odds and ends such as porn videos and reviews that I will eventually post here.
And for 5 bucks at amazon, this thing is a STEAL!

I've used this for about two years now and haven't had a single glitch. It's been plugged into both Macs and Windows machines without a problem for either one. I even slightly bent the metal end of the USB plug and it still worked fine! I only wish it was bigger. But two years ago 256 MB wasn't seen as being that small and it was a bit more expensive than now. Not sure if the newer SanDisk flash drives are this good, but this model has convinced me that I'd probably try them again.

What is NOT mentioned in the product description is that if you have a video ipod (60gb), the cut out for the screen on this product is significantly smaller than the screen on the video ipod. So when using this product, you cannot see all the way to the top, bottom, left or right side of your ipod screen. Really a bad product if you use your ipod for watching video. I consider this product to be defective by design.

This Ipod case did not fit my Ipod correctly, even though it was supposedly designed for the model I have. It was too loose and the clear space over the screen is too small, so the cover actually obscures the names of artists and songs as you scroll through your music. Don't buy it! I'm returning mine.

I had to really take my time putting the 4th Gen. 60 GB iPod in the case. Its really a tight squeeze. The case is really good for placing on the dashboard of a car as it doesn't slide around. I am really pleased with it. Would have been fun if it was coloured though.

Nice Case - Does not fit some aftermarket headphones/mini jacks!!.......2006-02-08
Some phones and mini connectors don't fit in the allocated opening. My car has an electronics store 1/8" mini plug. Generic. It won't plug all the way into the socket, leaving me with only the right channel. Also, of note, Sony MD 7506 phones will not fit all the way in either. I had to hack the opening a bit to make it fit. Other than that, the case is nice. Sometimes hard to open on th 60 gig video. I slid my fingernail under the edge back and forth until one side popped open. It was akward, and took some trying to get it open. Seems tough, and looks great.
DON'T use w/your iPod photo.......2006-01-04
This is a great case, but whatever you do, do NOT put your iPod photo into it because you will not be able to get it out.
Even though it seems as though it may fit, the amount of space between the case, the protective jacket that the case comes with, and your iPod is so small that you run a high risk of it getting stuck, like mine is now.
I went to the apple store's Genius Bar and they couldn't get it out; I called Contour for their suggestions and they were no help; and all the while dirt has been collecting inside the case adding scrathes to the surface of my iPod, along with the other scratches that have been created trying to get it out!
I absolutely love the case and wish they made this design for the iPod Photo--which is why I refuse to crack it open like everyone keeps telling me--but for the sake of your sanity (and your iPod), don't buy it for the Photo!

There's not much more to say than this case is THE case you should buy.
All the other silicone rubber or gigantic clamshell things cover thing turn your ipod into a hung of ugly protection. Half of owning an iPod is its elegance (and showing it off). That's where this case comes in. It's ultra clear, all the way around. And although it does make the iPod look a little bigger, it looks like an iPod, not some giant case covered in rubber, decoration, or hinges with an iPod in there somewhere.
Buy it. You'll be happy.

My poor iPod gets abused....I often accidently drop it or throw it in a bag for travel. Recently, I looked far & wide for an attractive case to adequately protect it. This is the best case I found.
I like the clear hard plastic that lets me see and operate the iPod while traveling. I like the fact that I can easily get access to charge it and load music with the hinged cover on the bottom. I also appreciate that it is not too bulky like some huge protective cases.
This is much better than all those "skin" covers that only really protect your iPod from scratches. This really does protect it from bumps & bruises. If you abuse your iPod like I do, this is for you.
The only reason that I didn't rate this five stars is that it comes with what appears to be a cheap cellophane sleeve that goes inside the hard plastic case to protect the click-wheel. This is a poor solution - I'm still looking for a better product to put inside to protect the click-wheel.

I purchased the case for myself. I am always looking for the best accessories for my portable devices, I have tried and purchased many cases for my ipod from the silicone/rubber cases to leather ones and the I see40 is the best I have ever seen it is more than worth the money. Only thing that they should have done was included more than one of the plastic linear/sleeves for the ipod.I gets 5 stars from me.
