LaCie External Hard Drive.......2007-12-31
This product was simple to install and it seems to be working quite well, even though it has not been used to its full capacity as of this date. However, some time ago I purchased a LaCie external hard drive for my grandson and he had great success without any problems.
I would purchase one of these products again if I needed one and I would recomment this company to my friends and family.

I've purchased this drive along with the Kensington Dome USB hub. The shipping was really fast, about 3 business days.
Anyways, I was originally looking at a Firewire Western Digital My Book drive but turned it down because of the abundance of bad review concerning reliability. I've been wanting a Firewire drive but they tend to be more expensive. Performance is not bad with this USB drive. I see that people really like this drive and so far I'm digging the sleek look. This was a great bargain as well, with the drive and the hub.
The only downside is that the drive makes some loud clicking noises sometimes. This is my first Lacie drive so I can't say anything about reliability now. The only disclaimer I would give any prospective buyers is that the metal is darker than what you see in the picture.

I now own two of these nice units. I really like the one-touch backup feature that comes with the software. Drag and drop files, one-touch backup - it works anyway you prefer.

I like it. Just like it. I was so concerned whether it`s a bad deal or whether it cracks after the first week of using - after reading all the reviews...
But no - it`s just great - no problems at all. I have even bought 320Gb version for my Dad :)
Quite fast, silent (some times silent cracking sound - looks like reads information at these times), no problems with access, lots of space, good price! :) Get it! :)
LaCie 500GB drive........2007-12-25
Can't afford a Porche? Well, this is the next best thing! Set it up as a backup hard drive and copy your whole computer to it (as with Apple's Time Machine backup program) or using various other backup schemes. (If you are using a Macintosh, create a 15-20 GB partition and put a bare-bones copy of the operating system on that partition so if you lose your main hard drive, you can boot from this partition and restore your computer!). This hard drive seems to be quick and fairly quiet. Sometimes I cannot tell if it is on or not.

These slim cases are nice looking. They also work well with the iSkin Claro. My only issue with them is that they're so thin, in some places they're not a uniform thickness... I can actually see darker spots where my black iPod video is showing through. It's not a big issue, the cases still look great. Just be warned, it may take a little bit of time for the cases to get worn in: in the mean time you might notice some curling towards the top of the screen where it seems a little bit too tight.

While this case is very nice in concept and definitely would work to protect the ipod, you cannot use it with any FM modulator in the car without taking the case off. The only option around this is to hardwire a modulator into the car, but then the ipod won't charge, which seems silly to me. All in all, not a good product since you would have to take it out of the case to do anything with it besides sync it with your computer.

I enjoy this case very much. The concept is genious, a silcone layer inside, hardshell out side provides scratch protection with the added sleek hard shell following the contours of the iPod. The sole reason this case did not get 5 stars, and why I may search for another case is because of the opening for the headphones. Unless the headpone end is like the apple earbud one and straight, it will be difficult for you to get the entire jack into the opening. This is a pain when trying to use an FM transmitter, or anything except the apple earbuds. Other cases I recomend if you're looking at this one...the Agent 18 is very good, and you may try a simple sheildzone film to protect it from scratches.
