Unobtrusive and Effective Protection for your iPod Mini !!!! ............2005-08-28
I wanted some protection for my new iPod Mini, and some of the products were too obtrusive, having folding covers over the scoll wheel and other features that get into the easy functionality of the iPod. The SkinTight works well. It fits tightly around the iPod and has a nice, warm textural feel to it. All controls are uncovered for easy access, incl. recharging and headphone port. The detachable lanyard is a nice feature as I travel quite a bit and am not always wearing a shirt with a front pocket, so I can just wear it around my neck.
I haven't dropped it yet but am certain the rubberized cover would protect the iPod well.
The price is a bit high for what is essentially a protective cover, but is in line with what current products cost. I rate it as a good value. Give it a try. It fits the hi-techy feel of the iPod.

This is a really good cover to protect the body of the iPod. It does not, however, protect the screeen or the wheel. I took the plastic film that I use to protect the screen of my PDA, cut it down to size and covered both the wheel and the screen with this. The lack of protection for the screen and the wheel seems to be a common problem among iPod protector skins. Aside from that, this skin protects from falling on hard surfaces and general scratching. I also like the lanyard. It's not too heavy to hang arond your neck and I could never get used to the velcro holder on my arm. This is a good alternative.
