A feature called Active Control continually adjusts picture settings at over 60 times per second for all inputs, correcting both sharpness and noise reduction. AutoChron automatically sets the right time of day and maintains it with digital precision through brownouts, power failures, and even daylight savings time adjustments. AutoPicture lets you change--at the touch of a button--the picture settings (color, tint, contrast, etc.) for various types of programming, including sports, movies, multimedia (games), or weak signals.

AutoSound allows you to select from three factory-set controls and a personal control that you set according to your preferences. The three factory-set controls (Voice, Music, and Theatre) let you enhance the particular program you are watching. Incredible Surround simulates enveloping surround sound from any two speakers, while the audio volume leveler (AVL) keeps the TV sound at an even level for a more consistent, comfortable sound.

Auto Color, one of the features of Active Control, measures the color content of the incoming signal and adjusts it according to predefined ideal values.

Inputs include two component-video (one HD and one standard-definition), one S-video, one RF coaxial audio/video, and two composite-video connections, as well as a VGA computer input with internal scaling, which accepts signals up to SXGA (1,280 x 1,024, from 56 to 85 Hz). A stereo analog audio output facilitates hookup with a surround receiver or integrated amplifier.

Amazing TV.......2004-11-07

I bought this TV from Amazon, and have had a great experience so far. It can accept just about any input(excluding DVI), and has a very fast refresh rate if you plan to hook it to your computer for playing games and watching dvd's. This is perfect as a TV for a dorm room or for the kitchen... Color rendition is excellent, and viewing angles are also very good. As a bonus(and a very important one) it is HDTV-ready. Great TV. buy it.

Good experience.......2004-05-21

I purchased my Phillips thru Amazon and got the same set made in China that others have had problems with. I picked the set because of its compact size for a kitchen countertop. It has been a flawless performer and the picture is first rate. Others who have seen this set operate have purchased similar sets with no issues. While this is my first Philips set it will not be my last. Besides, try to find electronics not made in China or Taiwan these days!

Screen Failure.......2004-05-16

My Philips 15PF9936 15" LCD TV is a dud. The screen worked for a brief time before dying on me. It's electric board was replaced and it worked beautifully for a whole twelve hours before blacking out and dying once more - I had good enough sound but no picture. Perhaps someone should inform Philips that Tvs are for viewing as well as listening. I am seeking a refund. I will not buy a Philips set again.

Poor Quality Control.......2004-02-28

I bought and returned two samples of this set due to a failed screen. This occured in both sets after only two weeks of use. They are made in China and quality control is nonexistent. I bought the set because of the great features and it did have a good picture (while it worked) especially with Progressive DVD. This was my first purchase of a Philips TV and will be my last. After the second return, I purchased a Panasonic 14" and have had no trouble. The Panasonic has much higher quality of construction (made in Japan) and is very reliable.

Fits 4G as well..........2004-10-07

I bought this product because I was looking for a quick and easy dash mount for my 4G ipod. It is working great so far. It fits the 4G perfectly, and the adhesive on the dash mount is SUPER strong. I was worried it wouldn't be sticky enough to keep up with all the manhandling a dash-mounted ipod receives, but it seems like it is up to the task. I don't use the belt clip, so I can't comment on the relative crappiness of the clip as mentioned in the other review. For my purposes this has been an excellent and affordable solution to my problem.

Great Holster, ABsolutely lousy clip.......2004-01-28

I recently upgraded to a 3G iPod. When I saw this, I thought it would be the perfect solution for those people who actually USE their iPod, not bury it in a case. If you're worried about scratches all the time, I doubt you are enjoying the music much. This would allow for easy access and quick connection connections. It would also double as a quick and easy car holder.

I received the holster and slid the iPod in. Perfect fit to my slim 3G. Excellent so far. Nice fit and quality, great grip. Then I clipped the holder on the clip. A little loose on the fit I thought. Then I squeezed the clip. It shattered. No, it wasn't cold. Room temp. The sides just cracked and the clip broke into 4 pieces. First squeeze. Upon close examination, it is made from the ultra brittle plastic you see on the cheap import cell phone cases. The ones in Wal-Mart for pennies on the dollar?

Hard to believe Belkin would make such a nice holster and then supply the cheapest clip they could find. A total failure. By the way, I dug out an old Nokia clip I had that had been in use for 2+ years every day until I retired the phone. The clip is very loose with this Belkin as the knob on the case is smaller than that on most cell phone case.

Big drag.
