Software will NOT install.......2007-11-10
The software refused to install on my system. It's not worth sending it back for a refund. I can only give it one star because the battery charger function does work.
BE WARNED: There is a special procedure for installing North America Windows XP Verizon LG. If you have this setup, as I do, the auto-install will not work. I couldn't get the special install to work either???

I ordered this product to quickly download my contacts (from MS Outlook) onto a new LG VX6100 phone. I was able to take a .csv file from Outlook Contacts and edit it in excel (just save file as .csv) for uploading 150 numbers & 85 names onto my phone - in about 15 minutes of work. Software installed easily, and has many extra features like creating ringtones from mp3 files, wallpaper backgrounds, etc. I also have been able to backup the cell's contacts and other cellphones contacts effortlessly - in case they are lost, damaged, or for transfer to next phone. It's also a much quicker way to edit/add existing cellphone contacts. I would just say that the software is fairly simple (this isn't a iPod experience), and you need to be fairly good with your computer skills to make it all work.
Just what I needed.......2005-12-18
I just got a new LG VX 8100 phone, and was very disappointed that Verizon didn't sell a data cable to go with it. When I am away from home, I occassionally am in a situation where I need internet access, and the only way I can get it is to use my cell phone as a modem. Therefore, I was very pleased to find out about this product. Although it does not mention the LG VX 8100 on the product container, the cable works well with that phone, and the company offers the software version needed for the VX 8100 on it's Web site.
I have not tried all of the features, as yet, but this cable and the downloaded software do allow me to use my phone as a modem. I also love being able to edit my contact list on my computer and then upload it quickly and easily to my phone. It's much better than trying to do it on the phone itself.

Didn't work with listed phone VX3300.......2007-01-10
I got this for a LG VX3300 to use primarily as a charger from my work desktop. The one positive: the plug fits my phone. Everything else... Dud. Charging function with this phone/cable combination is not available (tried two computers, one of which I know is a powered USB port, my Palm charger works on it). I decided to see what the data cable will do (LG doesn't advertise any data connectivity features for this phone so anything it does is a bonus). Windows reports that it saw a device attached, identified the phone type, then said there are no drivers (win XP Pro, latest service packs). A web search provided no matches either, nor at the phone manufacturer. So I foolishly turned to the CDR included to redeem my purchase. It is a hideous collection of MIDI files that are supposed to resemble songs, but I can't tell what. I had a better collection of MIDI files 20 years ago on my Commodore 64. This product is a total dud.
I guess since the plug fits, I can cut it off and rewire it onto an old LG power cable that got rolled over by a chair.

Technicaly support is provided by BitPim's help files and it's online support pages that also includes a helpful forum. We recomend to customers that need technical assistance or who simply do not like the included software to purchase software with support. You might wanna buy this.......2007-03-15
If you're interested in putting personalized ringtones, pictures, etc. on your LG phone without the unecessarily expensive costs of downloading them, you should definitely buy this.
It fits almost every LG phone and connects to almost any computer. Installation is pretty simple, nothing to worry about, really.
Overall, it's definitely worth it to buy this, no doubt about that.
advertisement is deceiving.........2007-01-16
I got this package in clear bag not at all what their advertisement displays. I had send an email before they sent me the software.

While the data cable is good; the included software doesn't work very easily or very well. If your interest is easy transfer of files, mp3's, and ringtones to your phone memory, then you will be disappointed.
While it does do the job, it takes more time that it should, and ultimately frustrated me to come up with another way to transfer files.
