Awesome 32" LCD

I really toke my time before buying this LCD. I compare each feature of this 32" LCD with many other brands. I also read all the reviews of this 32" LCD and many others reviews from other brands. According to prices and reviews, i decide to buy this one.

I plugged my desktop using the video DVI port (with a DVI to HDMI cable), my laptop with a VGA cable , my DVD player with HDMI. And my cable tv signal (not digital). I have to say that is amazing the great picture that I get in all the cases. No dead pixel. It also looks great. The stand is not so great but the rest is amazing. The sound of the LCD is great also.

The PIP feature is great. This LCD came with a lot of ports including a optical tosklink out port.

I highly recommend this product.

I really did some in depth research for a 32" (largest that would fit in my armoir) for my bedroom. I compared features, contrast ratio's, brightness, number of HDMI inputs etc, and came up with the Astar. I am as happy as clam! No dead pixels, picture in HD is incredible. As good or better than my parents $1800 name brand 32" lcd. By the way the dimensions of this set are 32" wide and 25 3/4" High with the stand. I could not find these figures anywhere. Buy this product, you won't regret it.

I'm sure you could marginally improve the sound by spending five to ten times the cost of these beautifully built tower speakers, but I don't see why any rational buyer would spend the huge extra cost for such a tiny return.

I bought these as the foundation for a 6.1 home theater system, adding a center channel speaker, three rear surrounds, and a 10" amplified subwoofer, also by Fluance. Driven by a Yamaha AV receiver, the system fills our modest 1400 square foot home with pure and powerful sound that we can enjoy for hours at a time without suffering from listening fatigue. For our home, the subwoofer may not even have been needed except to shake things up (literally) in movies like Jurassic Park.

For the whole 6.1 system (not including receiver), we paid right around a grand. I'm not going to call it a steal, but it was the best deal I've found in a good many years. Oh, and the people at Fluance were great (you can find a contact telephone number at the Fluance.com web site). They referred me to this site when I found they weren't set up to handle my particular credit card. The cost ordering through Amazon was just about the same as it would have been had I ordered directly from the Fluance web site.

It works well for me.......2006-08-06

I bought this at another online retailer. I also bought a Gigabit card for my PC. Testing between my Macintosh and PC the speed to copy files seems about 100% faster (double the speed.)

I copied about 4 GB worth of files on 100 and it took about 3:48, and on 1000 it took about 2:06. Not quite 100%, but close.

Remember to use Cat 6 cable for Gigabit.

It's no wonder they are clearning them out. I was going to replace my D-Link DSS-5+ (which itself is pretty stinky) with a gig switch, thereby completing my end-to-end gig network. But the fact is download speeds are actually slower by about 15%! This is with molded CAT-5 cables, simply moved between the two switches for numerous test runs.

Don't bother wasting your time with this.
