A stately entry in Teac's compact, champagne-finished Reference Series, the DV-H550 DVD player measures just 11.5 inches wide to match other components in the series. It's loaded with great features, too, from MP3 and VCD playback capability to a 10-bit video digital-to-analog converter to plentiful hookup options. High-resolution component-video outputs help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any TV.
A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions, and the player will even decode Dolby Digital 5.1 signals, passing 6 RCA analog-audio signals to "surround-ready" audio/video receivers lacking digital-audio inputs. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio outputs (one each RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) for direct connection to a full-featured AV receiver.
A 96 kHz/24-bit audio digital-to-analog converter ensures optimum decoding of all disc formats. Other features include digital image zoom (4x, 16x normal), resume play, parental controls (rating levels and password protection), and a full-function remote control.

This lcd protector is really nice and looking through the pictures you take, the quality of the images is at least as nice as w/o the cover.
So I am buying a new one of these because of a bonehead move where I hit the release of my tripod w/o holding onto the camera. Probably a total fall of 3 feet.
The glass itself was pretty much ruined. After freaking out and thinking happy thoughts, I slowly removed the glass and, amazingly, the lcd was fine (luckily so were the camera and lens).
I don't know for a certainty that the lcd would have been damaged from the fall, but for
< 25 bucks, why risk it?
If you are immune from the sorts of incidents this product seems to protect you from, then you won't need it.

And with SONAR, or Switch on No Activity Received, the interface not only monitors for loss of link on the active port, but will also monitor for traffic. With SONAR, if the active port remains idle for a given amount of time (configurable for 2-4 seconds) the resilient technology of the redundant interface will verify activity on the secondary port, and switch traffic to that port once traffic is detected. This prevents a switch or switch port failure from bringing down the network or any part of it.
