Audio enhancements consist of an audio-direct switch and CD upsampling playback (to an incredible 1,764 kHz) to give you the best-possible sound quality from your standard audio CDs.
The DVD-S1500 features Faroudja's Emmy award-winning DCDi deinterlacing and scaling technology to up-convert standard video in DVDs to HD resolutions. DCDi (Directional Correlational Deinterlacing) technology eliminates the jagginess that conventional upconverters introduced to diagonal edges in video. FaroudjaÕs unique DCDi algorithm identifies all the moving edges in a scene and adjusts the angle of interpolation at each pixel so that the interpolation always follows the edge instead of crossing it, eliminating staircasing or jagged edge artifacts.

Has excellent audio performance, but has a problem reading one of my dvd audio disks. No usable fluorescent front- panel display to think of. The remote lacks separate ff and chapter forward buttons, making the interface very frustrating at times. Why couldn't they include this minimal expense item?
This unit has an inexcusably noisy transport, and takes forever to start playing a disk.
It cost me over 30 dollars in shipping to get the unit serviced after it froze up. It still would not play the problem dvd audio disk I have.

I purchased this unit soley to be able to play SACD and perhaps DVS-audio recordings in two channel (plus sub)sound. It works quite well for that. In terms of comparison, I generally use a custom built, tubed CD player for standard discs. The SACD layer of hybrids sounds about as good on the DVDS1500, overall, as the best standard recordings do on my main player--that's pretty darned good, BTW. The standard CD playback truly sucks and I wouldn't use the Yamaha for that purpose. I am quite satisfied with this inexpensive unit, it is and does what I wanted it to be and do.

DVD got stuck and would not come out!! Same problem as others!! Hope Yamaha recalls it. Over ninety days - not under warranty.

Slow clunky noisy overpriced and broke within one year (and can't get the disk back) Yamaha will not honor warentee . DESPITE THE FACT THAT I BOUGHT IT NEW, read the fine print very carefully. WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER YAMAHA PRODUCT EVER

The Nikon D80 is a great but complex camera. After having mine about a month, I'm just beginning to feel comfortable with it, although I've used smaller digital cameras and film SLRs for many years.
Obviously you can't squeeze a 150-page manual onto both sides of an 8-1/2 x 11 inch sheet, so this Cheat Sheet's role is mainly as a reminder of things you've learned but forgotten, and also as a kind of index when you have to go back to the manual. It basically tells you which control or menu item does what you want to do.
So the better you know your camera, the more useful this sheet becomes -- for instance, when you've forgotten which sub-sub-menu lets you change the maximum ISO setting or minimum shutter speed in Auto ISO mode ...
It's easy to read and well-made -- looks like it'll last for years. It's actually more up-to-date than the Nikon manual, since it includes fixes for some manual errors. And I've found NO errors on this sheet, while I've found several dozen in the manual itself.

Received the paper in good condition; however some of the paper was not sealed (in its original packaging). Don't know if something happened during the packaging process, but I overlooked that and I'd definitely reorder again.
