this dvd player is the worst. I bought it at a bargain price, but what a mistake!
the dvd drawer opens REALLY slow!
some DVD's don't work, althought hey work just fine with my other DVD player.
it takes a long time for the dvd player to actually start playing the disc.
I'll give it 2 stars because it was cheap and it's nice to look at. I gave it to my friend and he already gave it to charity.

this is my second review as I was in error about a problem with the color (it was with my tv after all)
This system holds 5 disks that rotate in plate-like system that only lets you load one at a time; and changing disks once the tray is closed to the one you want to watch is a bit slow and time consuming (about 15 seconds per disk). Had a incident when the tray was closed, where a disk left its holder and piggy-backed onto another disk; (could have been an operator error)maybe I was careless in the loading. only complant is that when I had in in the stop position, after about 4 minutes, the machine stoped and had to start from the beginning of the movie and you can't skip the FBI warning etc.
Some nice features is when in pause, press pause again, and there is a minute frame by frame advance.or you can go in slow motion or you can get a x2 or x4 or x16 advance or reverse; plus an option for a skip a chapter forward or backward.
Picture is crisp; on my first single disk DVD; which I gave to a friend, had a faint rolling vertical band you could see; this system doesn't do that; another nice feature is if you have a disk (movie) with subtitles, you have the option to display the english translation or not to display the subtitle at all.
As I mentioned in the beginning, please ignore my first review. I'm very happy with this system and you get alot of features for your dollar

Best lens for the money!!!.......2002-01-08
I purchased this sigma 170-500mm lens about 2 mos ago, and was very impressed with it from the start! The lens has a good feel to it! not very heavy, but well built! The only thing I would change is the manual focus ring! it is a bit loose and hard to micro adjust! after about a week of practice, I think I have mastered it. Now the important part! picture quality! I have used this lens to photograph birds, deer, seals, and zoo animals, every time the pics came out clear and sharp even at the edges. I sometimes use a Kenko 2X converter to bring my zoom to 1000mm and still get sharp pics! I've owned Canon lenses in the past and was very happy with them also, but Sigmas photo quality is very close if not eaqual to any comprable canon lens! why pay 2-3-4 times more??? I curently own 4 sigma lenses "20-70mm, 28-105mm, 70-300mm, and 170-500mm" and am very happy with all 4 lenses! the true test will be when you strap it onto you canon,nikon, or any oter camera you own and see for yourself.
